I appreciate the feedback guys, still trying to figure out exactly which direction I'm going. Really don’t want to run 18’s, prefer 17’s and most likely 34’s. I know some guys are running 17’s with the Pro Comp lift.

My daily commute is almost 50 miles round trip. Got the windows tinted and clear bra today…suspension of some type should be next.

    Thanks

Most fellas doing 17s have a nice offset to clear the knuckles.

There is a very limited selection of 18" rims BTW, so, yeah...... 17" may be better.

I lifted my 2017 Tacoma SR5 double 2WD V6 last week and installed 17” method wheels with 315/70R17 BF Goodrich A/T ko2 tires. Since then I notice when going over 70mph my RPMs stay above 3,000rpm and the gear is stuck in 4th for several minutes. Is that normal? It used to drop to around 2,500rpm when it was stock and that’s at 5th gear. Also notice my mpg go from around 20mpg to 14mpg which sucks because that’s my daily for around a 70 miles commute (both ways). Just wondering if someone with similar setup has notice that and has it improved over time (maybe computer adjusting)?

I had custom skids made that used the 10 gauge stainless steel Pro Comp version as a template. Also had a skid made that covers the DB struts. Any decent metal fab shop should be able to cut, bend weld a good set of skids.

I’ve been thinking about the 6” vs 3” for two weeks now, I’ve owned each before and understand the attributes of both, was tired of thinking about it, happy to have made a decision.

Thanks for all of the replies, just ordered the 6 inch BDS with coilovers. BDS has a 20 percent off sale until the 24th, the 823F kit was $3100 with the discount and ordered via my local shop.

The installation fees plus alignment is another $1220.

    Okay, here ya go… : )

Lift might be here this week, wheels will arrive Friday, still working on tires, but most likely Hankook XT in 285/75/17, that’s 34’s and just happen to have one in the garage from my last rodeo.

Do you happen to have any pics of your skids? Particularly the ones that protect the db struts?

Picked up my 2023 from the shop this evening, had the 6 inch BDS fox coilover lift installed. The ride is a little firmer than stock, but i’m also now running E rated 285/75/17 hankook XT’s.

The 17 inch wheels (17x8.5 -10mm) fits the BDS lift with a 3/4” wheel spacer up front, have about 1/2” of clearance between the tie rod and rim lip. Took it directly to the car wash, pardon the shine : ) only has 917 miles.

I had the rc 6 inch kit on my 09 access cab and finally got the accutune fox 2.5 full length coilovers installed this spring. I deleted the sway bar and the truck rides amazing. I did new hubs, ECGS bushing, new cvs and the truck feels brand new. Thanks to accutune, this thread and forum, and dpf88101 for answering all my questions. If anyone was on the fence this is the best way to go in my opinion. IMG_3696.jpgIMG_3702.jpg

Anyone have oem 4x4 knuckles and oem front diff brackets that they want to part with? Looking to remove my DB and go to a more mild lift.

so many guys go DB lifts here in Hawaii, I’d honestly call ANY shop and see if the owner would sell it, and ship it to you. Less for them to throw away
