The way you ride, do it. I was honestly surprised how much I like it. Being in the front is much less noticeable also since you’re not pedaling it. I’d go with normal Rimpact next time, lighter and less protection, but all the grip and roll resistance.
And they’re “run flat”, as in you can make your way home without putting a tube in. I pared down to a Oneup pump and puncture tool (in one). No more tubes, levers, or co2.

What was supposed to be first “ride” turned into bike a bike and ride the dry spots and the slabs that we found while hiking and bouldering with 2 miles of single track cus my friends are stubborn. Good day, not a ton of riding. But shenanigans, fun, and good views

What is the best 300.00 29 air fork. I live in Dallas so no downhill.it is going on this bike. I was looking at the rockshox recon and the rockshox 35.

You can find a RS 35 for around $250, a Marzocchi for about $410, and a Mezzer for around $500.

Probably best forks new for price ranges.

Lots of upgrade forks available on the used market. You can get a better fork than your sticker price limit. People are always selling perfectly good stuff to get newer/shinier bling.

I just changed from 175mm cranks to 165mm. I needed
more pedal clearance for our riding here in Prescott and Sedona.
All new Cluster, Chain and Sprocket. I went to a 30t from a 32t which keeps my gear ratios the same.

Marzocchi Z2! It's basically a rebranded Fox 34. I have it on my Pipedream HT and it rips. Its like $420 these days but well worth the money.

Thats neat. But not sure I trust a relatively small locking pin to hold the weight up over the legacy bar-lock design.

Regardless, can we acknowledge that 1up having the 3d viewer solidworks style is pretty dope?

hahaa. yeah. the 3d viewer was pretty cool. That's where i noticed the new locking pin. I'm not entirely confident in the pin neither but the legacy bar lock has its flaws as well. chief of them being that they develop play over time. :/ maybe a combo of the two would be best? the new one also is weird because it doesn't have a bar across the main hitch body to help with lateral stiffness so it looks kinda dainty-er.

The Rallon has more travel than my old bike, but doesn’t feel one bit sluggish. This things fast as hell. It really does feel “race bike” and snappy. Will have to keep in mind how that really feels when it’s next bike time. Never understood what people meant by that since I had only ridden my 27.5 aluminum trail bike before this one.

Down the line a yeti might be in my future
