How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Thanks! Within an hour of asking for an update I started getting doors unlocked notifications and the tires are now inflated to 35 psi. No gas or new mileage yet, lol. I suspect it will load and show up tomorrow night or Wednesday, dealer had told me 02-05 June so they had the right info. Not sure I can get the new trade-in ding squared away with insurance before the end of the week, so might not matter anyway. If I don't get the chance to get it Thursday or Friday night it will be closer to end of the month until I can get there. But thanks for info!

If my truck is due at the end of July when can I expect a VIN number?

 

Picked up this beauty yesterday! Welcome Home!

 

It’s not the due date that matters. It’s the build date. If you know it’s built watch your dealers website to see if they posted the new VIN or window sticker with VIN. That or contact the dealer and ask for it. Mine was listed by DragonPros data system as built 4/18. But the window sticker was created 4/15 with the new permanent assigned VIN. I assume when your build order goes to the factory from corporate computers they print that window sticker with the new VIN then that’s what they give the assembly line to go build that day or week. For what it’s worth there’s a ton of Tacomas moving in my area. Dealer allotment listings are swelling. I bet I know of three dealers with combined over 80 listings. A month ago it was not much over half that.

My dealer called and said they are taking deposit to be inline for 2024 Tacomas. I won’t be ready until maybe 2025 or 26.

 

Picked up Monday! Exactly 8 months after I put my deposit on it. Today is the first day I was able to get pictures without me in it or it sitting in my very crammed garage. Somehow my husband wishes it was bigger (he wants a full size) and smaller (to fit in the garage better) at the same time.

4/12/23 put in allocation
5/09/23 dealer called to say factory accepted the order
Deliberately did not bug salesman about it; did not get a temp VIN
06/05/23 got the call it was arriving (turns out next morning, actually)
06/06/23 (D-Day) I brought it home.

Ended up with the advanced tech and premium audio package instead of just LED lights and mats, but I'm happy with it.

And…. 11 weeks later, 131 mile leisurely drive home dodging deer and tractor trailer blowouts getting 21.8 mpg and the pony is finally in the shed.
That’s my eighth vehicle purchase and by far the strangest most bizarre process and unfolding of events ever!
Good luck to everybody else getting a ‘23. I think they’re ringing the last of the 3rd gen taco juice outta the factories now.
