You could buy anything if you trade that fast ( pretty much) long haul is a different story. Keep in mind when you change that fast especially with American stuff it costs big time. But if your good with that your all good . It’s like a lease if your ok with putting down some cash every 3 years and stay under a certain mileage you can drive what ever. Most stuff will make it through a lease with out major issue

Being afflicted by "Toyota Fanboy Syndrome" is, in many cases, incurable. Even surgical removal of Toyota blinders does not guarantee a cure. Some are just lost causes.

Like it, think the renders looked better than the prototype.

My father has had a couple and never had any issues. I’ve driven his with the 5.7 and it rides nice, has plenty of power, tows well and gets better mpg than my 2nd gen. The size doesn’t work out for me and my tiny parking space at work otherwise I would get one.

I think it will stick around, despite there being a multitude of Toyota products to take it's place. If you look at it objectively, there's more reasons to get rid of the 4Runner than keep it. Toyota wouldn't lose one sale to another Toyota product, if 4R was no longer available.

Where did I say I would never buy a vehicle with a turbo? Having concerns about long term reliability and increased cost of ownership is just that. Concern. The other midsize options also have a turbo so it looks like I will have to at least accept that at some point. So I shouldn’t even mention my concerns? At this point I am more concerned with the hybrid aspect but that is just me.

BTW how old are you. You come off as young and naive. I am 51.

I hope the 2025 4Runner looks close to the 2024 GX Overtrail. The GX will probably be in the 75K range which is about 15-20K more than I could stomach. If the new 4Runner gets the V6 twin turbo I might be in over the 2025 Tacoma.

Well you post about an unreliable hybrid/turbo engine that isn't even out yet and then deny it in subsequent posts and when you have no data about it then you criticize people for not thinking what you think. Seems strange to me.

Again never said I won’t buy something with a turbo. Just trying to decide how long to keep my 3rd Gen before I am forced to. I would have to really love something to jump right now. Also the V6 turbo gets the power/torque without the added hybrid component. That doesn’t make sense to you?

I’ll ask again. How old are you?

He had a 2500 diesel. It was getting fussy with the DEF system before he offed it. Then moved to a half ton with the 5.7, it was an rocketship. Think that one started having electrical issues at 30K miles, and now in a Ford the last time I talked to him. Rode nice had plenty of power, didn’t wow me enough to get my money. Would buy a Ford or Chevy before a Ram. All comes down to personal preference, none of them are perfect. We humans are funny, wanting a perfect vehicle while none of us are.
