Which one caused it to seem more intense? Are you sure everything got hooked back up properly after changing the radiator? Nothing left disconnected accidentally?

Sounds electrical to me. Maybe a pinched wire when the radiator was replaced?

It's still overheating with the new cap, getting aaa to bring it home and I'll fucking deal with it tomorrow. Nothing looks obviously pinched or disconnected either.

So question. When you did the rad, before putting the upper hose on did you pour coolant into it to fill up the block first and then connect it to the radiator? And did you bleed the system afterwards with the radiator cap off and the heat on high?

There's a shop across the street from me, gonna let them flush the coolant and put the good stuff in. I'm in MV for work next week anyway so I won't be around to need the truck or do it

Yea you'll get coolant in the block just by filling the radiator but you can trap air in the block if you don't fill it from the upper rad hose. I'm sure you have some air in there lol
