I got a call from my ARE dealer that the CX Classic topper I ordered on 4/21 was delivered to their shop this morning and made an appointment to have it installed on Monday. My sales guy said he inspected it and compared it to the order and everything looks good. I've only owned one truck topper in my life and that was back in the 80's, so I'd appreciate any hints/suggestions on anything I should tell them when I drop the truck off in the morning and what to look for when I go pick it up. Probably a dumb question I know but I'm basically new to this and would love the benefit of your experience :)

I've had a CX on mine since 2006; I really need to pull it and replace the seals. If the place that you bought it from has installed AREs on Tacomas you shouldn't have any issues.

Hopefully you ordered it with everything you wanted (roof rack tracks are easy enough to do yourself)- ARE thinks anything you want after the sale is made of gold.

Yup, it's pretty basic....headliner, dome light with 2 LED strips and prop switch, and a tilt-down front slider window so I have access to the back window of the truck. No need for roof racks. These guys have been around for quite some time so I can't imagine them not having done Tacomas before. There are a ton of them around here.

You were right. Everything went fine, no issues at all :)

    Looks good!

If you decide to add a roof rack/tracks do not mount it to that thicker section in the middle- it's a cardbaord/fiberboard honeycomb that stiffens the roof to keep it curved and from vibrating while traveling but will crush and any water intrusion will damage it. Mount the tracks outside of that and you'll be fine. There are several write-ups on how to do it.

Thanks! I'm good with it just the way it is. No rack needed. :)
