i literally got mine the same as pic. frustrated i couldnt make the copper lines as mandrel as i liked. used the same container as one member uses for a s/c collant tank. have my plans for insulating. 2nd idea was a yz250 radiator in a myself made ice box. i can make waterproof polystyrene boxes of any size easy. just need time for r&d on that. but i thought i had/have a decent idea.

 

Good for pre-2012 models. I went with a 4th gen V6 4Runner 4x4 switch in mine.

 

comes down to knowing it will be a 30min advantage and a pita. like add ice and have more fun on your morning drive. but if thats my win for the morning its worth it.

I looked at that a while ago. I can’t remember if I bought it or if it’s still in a drawer.

 

The ones for 2012+ is more difficult to pull off supposedly. I wanted to do the mod a few years back but ran out of steam when I saw how much work was involved just to be able to illuminate the switch.

 

I like my illuminated 4x4 switch.

same with a lighted fog light switch. It’s in my notes to get the FJ switch and such but I just can’t be bothered.

I just reach over blindly and can feel if they are on or not by the OEM switch.

I can attest they were both a LOT more work than they should have been, but I wanted them. I bought the parts, so they were going to happen, one way or another. I remain happy with both...
