After two coats of linseed oil, my boards looked pretty good, but I remembered that we have some cutting board conditioner in the house that made our cutting boards look nice. I found it, a mostly empty can that I remember being quite expensive.

I got looking at the can, it says it's a mixture of beeswax and mineral spirits. I have olive oil, and avocado oil, but no mineral spirits. After a bit of googlefu I found a recipe that included olive oil and a couple of essential oils that I knew my wife would have (because she has them all ). Of course I've been keeping the ends of her beeswax candles for years, knowing I'd use them for something, so I made my own. :D

It seems to have turned out ok. :notsure:

Hard to like that because I respect the pain/not sleeping/headache situation.

However I do admire your can-do attitude in spite of the days difficulties.

Hope you heal up quick. :fingerscrossed:

Mrs Green considers "the great outdoors" that vast expanse between the house and car -- the outside stuff is on me... forever... :ballchain:

My wife mowed once back in 2001 during my first deployment. She said the mower rides too rough and jiggles her boobs too much :notsure: She hired a guy to mow after that while I was gone.

Headache is down to about 50% and the back feels like either the drugs kicked in or twisting and turning while mowing helped.

    On to the landscaping!

Well, here is something I don't pick up every day. This piece of wood was sitting (outside) on the welding table.

    KIMG3143.jpg

That perfectly round hole is from a Carpenter Bee - complete with said bee...

    KIMG3144.jpg

I used it (the wood, not the bee personal) to draw a straight line on something I was cutting, flipped the piece over and noticed the occupant.

Order some 1/4 down. Couple yards will do. Then let the hot Sun beat you. Then the bugs eat you & you play musical plants for a year or two.
    Worth it?

    You bet

Final tally before I threw in the towel:
    • lawn mowed, weed wacked and leaf blown
    • the other half of the dead landscaping cleaned up from last year
    • weeds pulled
    • 3 plants planted (that's what really did my back in), another 8 to do tomorrow
      • Maybe
    • spider killer put down around the patio
    • ant killer spread on the ant hill
    • weeds sprayed
    • wire mesh set up as a trellis for the tomatoes
And yet somehow it feels like (or at least looks like) I didn't get much done.

Had lots to do around the house today. Didn’t get much of it done.

got the yard mowed and cleaned up and watered.
Cleaned the pool and checked chemical levels.

Then wasted the rest of the day driving to pick up my brother in law. His jeep had a water pump failure as he pulled into a baseball game 2 hours away. Hooked up the trailer and off I went. Caught the tail end of the game and got it loaded up and headed home.

Got home and finished cleaning the pool and put the cover back on.

Not a bad day but could have done without the 4 hour drive.

Yesterday was one weird weather day. Intermittently sunny then 30 minute downpours with clouds overtaking until sunset. Got some stuff done - the dump run, laundry…

Found out my Atty in the ROW fiasco is no longer with the firm. No notice, just a return undeliverable email. Went to the website and he’s no longer listed. Ought to be an interesting call tomorrow. The BS continues…

I hope everyone has a pleasant Sunday :hattip:

Getting old is not for the faint of heart.

Every increasing constant pain just when it becomes normal some new injury comes along.

The bad part is not having any idea just what caused it.

Mother Nature takes care of anything needed planted or trimmed.

Why else would Goats ever have been domesticated .
