    After looking at some pictures of the new 2024 taco. I'm questioning some of their designs. For example the trailer hitch being welded to the frame and how they mounted the rear shocks.

    Also no front locker...wtf.

    The coil spring shock location or leaf spring shock location?

    The coil spring location. They hang so low to the deck and have so much space up top. They could have easily moved them and had 10 inches of travel or so.

    Edit: I believe the pics I saw were from the trail spec model. But the numbers are mostly the same as far as suspension travel is concerned. Heck the entire from end is basically the same.

    You know what? At this point I would just be happy with any specs on an OR or SR5, good or bad. A chart like the above with actual info vs. the selective piecemeal of data we have gotten so far would be amazing.

    My 96 LC has the same shock location. I never really had an issue even with heavy rock crawling. Travel seems fine even with the sway bars connected.

    @BC Hunter

    While on the topic of the V35A-FTS, are we at or nearing the point where the bugs are worked out of it?

    ETA: I just realized that engine has been out since 2017.

    Maybe its just the US made V35A-FTS's that are failing. The Japan made ones seem to be fairing a bit better, you don't hear of as many engine failures coming out of the LC and Lexus models using it.

    I had no idea that the G3 Tundy engine was 6 years old.

    Maybe one of these Taco Tuesdays they will finally show an Off Road or an SR5, it's already ridiculous at this point.

    Yet again another small turbo engine that doesn’t get good gas mileage. What is the point?

    Are you expecting something mind blowing? The TRD Off Road package is just Bilsteins, a locking diff, crawl control, and graphics. It will look like the TRD Sport but without the scoop and with black fender flares, just like the picture shows.

    My 5th gen 4runner has the same rear shock location. I rock crawl with no issues.

    What? It's called "3.4" in the Tundra. Here's my 2023 build sheet:

    Toyota could slap “Tacoma” badges on a refrigerator box with wheels and fanboys would buy them, stating how happy they are to have the “best” truck out there. Toyota knows that they don’t have to try too hard to sell their trucks, as they’re riding the coattails of their older trucks and the perceived reliability of the trucks they’re building today.

    Could end up being what stops the sale of 4R in the US once 5th gen is no longer in production. What's 4G Tacoma going to get 15-18 mpg on a good day from a Rwd XC SR?

    Put the 2.4t hybrid only in a 6G 4R that probably weighs more than a fully optioned TH DCLB. MPG are going to be very low. No way Toyota puts a 6tt in the 4Runner.
