I thought so too. I got it and was like damn, wish it was bigger. I used to have a navigator and that thing was like driving a damn bus. I think they are close in size though.

Im in too deep bow to give up and buy some plastic econobox. 90s Yotas are cheap plentiful and reliable, plus you get lots of compliments around town!

They're annoying; you eventually meet someone cool out of every 15 or so.

Im keeping an eye out for an 80 but I’m mostly window shopping for now tbh til I get my ducks in a row. I’d only get one if a screamer deal came up locally. I got mine for 8k a couple years ago but it was kinda rough and had been sitting for at least a month.

The 100 will probably feel bigger on trails with the torsion bars, but they’re the ultimate expedition platform for remote travel and light to moderate wheeling. Honestly they’re more reliable than an 80 series all else being equal; not as many leaks and head gaskets, etc.

@Yota X you really junk they’ll appreciate that much in a few years? People were dating they’d keep going up a few years ago, then they kinda stagnated. Even the old FJ60s can still be had for under 20k in decent condition. The only ones actually selling for over 20k are on BAT where people have cash to burn from what I’ve seen.

Yea yours would be a lot better than mine was. You’ve got a really good head start on the maintenance and light restoration they usually need at this age.

Mostly the compliments are kinda depressing. I appreciate the people who ask questions more than compliment. I'd mostly rather be ignored. Best compliment over the years was just a guy on a dirt bike who pointed at the truck and gave it a thumbs up. No muss no fuss.

If I don't find a trade I like in say...several months, I'll start pulling the interior rear in an anticipation of cutting out the rear cab.

I plan on buying a JD Squared tube bender this Monday or Tuesday and being able to bend tube will be huge for my fabricobblin' abilities.

Mine was 8k but it was a shitbox. I shouldn’t have paid anymore than 6k but I had rose colores glasses.

I didn't see that, but yeah that'd be counterintuitive.

It was in August 2021. There’s a couple 80s here locally thatve been sitting at 9-14k. They’re hard to sell in the south and Midwest IME.
