    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
A bender would get you a ton of side work.

I mocked them up and shaped the legs to fit before I welded them. They may take some fine tuning, but they are pretty well done.

If the price is right, and maybe...get some help on "making" sliders...then I may just do it.

    Hell yeah

It'll be more the "math" part of it really.

Trial and error really in figuring out "where a bend starts" and whatnot.

Watched a video on a guy making a go kart frame and it was cool watching him explain it easily.

Cut and painted my Purdue sign last night. Notre Dame is next in my Indiana (my home State) theme. That Fighting Irish leprechaun is gonna be tricky.

i second this. any sort of carts are insanely expensive, and anything that's not seems to be so cheap, the cost gets doubled just re-building it..

was just pricing out tool box side cabinets. most START at $1,000 for a square, 20-gauge box with a dozen drawer slides and drawers.

it might not be a huge market, but there's plenty of people that just need the raw-cut parts to make what they want.

Interesting to see Swag Offroad offer their own bender too.

It has a lower initial cost (going hydraulic) but the dies are a good bit more expensive than JD Squared. Someone else mentioned Protool as well.

My advise. Dies being less expensive is a LOT more important than keeping the cost of the bender down.

Especially if you think you may be using it for stuff outside of the offroad world. Bending stuff for tables and other stuff like it you'd probably want square tube, for example.

Swag stuff is good, don't get me wrong. But cheaper dies is a really big deal. A cheaper bender, not so much... you only need one bender.

Oh no I did consider that, just wondering why really (I guess aside from the obvious reason of, different production costs, etc).

Sucks I don't have these side by side or have anyone to ask "is one brand's die better than another?"

I'll gladly pay for quality since I see value in it. But being more expensive just because? Then yea I side with what you said.

JD2 has been around long enough I think their quality is proven well enough.

Maybe Swag has to pay more due to smaller production runs. Or, maybe they think they can get away with it because their name is out there because they keep sending free shit to a bunch of YouTube creators to pimp their product. Not sure.

But as good as they are... they aren't that much better that their dies are worth 20%-25% more than JD2.

What do you mean carts are expensive? They only cost a quarter at ALDI's.

It's a shame when welds are hidden by either paint, or the location where said part is installed

Lol yeah. Some customers agree and have asked for them to be unpainted.

Paint tomorrow, then I can drop it off with enough dry time either Monday or Tuesday

    20230610_160638.jpg

Welded a small bit of flat stock to the bottom of the square tube to seal it up

Since it'll be in-ground, I didn't want dirt and water getting inside and rusting out
