I ended up trying the seat below. That, when secured properly, makes the seat tolerable. Kind of weird because it makes you sit up even higher that you already are in that beast, but at least it’s drivable.

I found a door tear down tutorial as well and will be attempting it this weekend. I was directed to the better dealership in my area to talk to a service advisor about the seat squeak so when a fix comes out they’ll have my issue documented.

Yup. Was kind of a hunk of junk when I got it but I fixed it up and gifted it to my mother in law. New suspension, brakes, paint restoration, new transmission cooler lines (which claimed the life of at least three of my knuckles), and several gasket replacements.

    That's fucking hilarious!!!

    Called it.

I'm really starting to like BMW's..until something breaks. My co-worker has a Stage 2 N54 335i that moves along nicely.

there’s a write up on it here basically you remove the two plastic caps on each side of the bottom of the bench seat near the handle and you take a dremel or tin snip and cut about a quarter inch off the back stop which will allow you to have 3 different reclining positions just make sure to do it on both sides

Interesting, if you happen to think of the link please send.

I don't drive mine much but it might be worth thinking about. Doesn't bother me but my wife has back issues.

The n54 is an awesome car to drive, but a horrible car to own

    Nice M3's.

Last month my coworker hit a pothole and caused 4500.00 worth of damage. As we both know, the roads in CO suck ass but taking out a wheel bearing that easy was a little disappointing.

I looked at the new Tundras. I decided to go with a used 2020 TRD Pro. Yes, the mileage sucks and the technology isn't all there, but it looks great, is reliable and the only "tech" I really need is Apple Carplay, a brake controller, and a backup camera, which it has.

You might take a look at a low-mileage 2nd Gen.

I think the regular Soft Tex seats are actually way better than the fancy ones. Mine are quite comfortable. The more I drive my Gen 3, the more I like it. I have to admit I was a little apprehensive at first. It just seemed so different. But it has won me over. I consider it a very good machine.

Just curious - what about those seats makes them better than the fancy ones?

The leather and ventilated seats I have heard have the hard pipe or bar inside. This seems to be the cause of the discomfort. The regular seats are just a seat, and they are pretty good one in my estimation. Much better than my old GMC.
