Might just need to grease the pedal! Still original clutch too?

I just changed the rear and front diff oil. I used Valvoline ATF.

Also, I replaced a bad TPMS sensor with an Autel MX one. I got the hex IDs from the ECU with my Innova 5510, and one of them was bad, although I couldn't tell which one because the tires had been rotated and the ECU order wasn't the correct order. After much research, I decided to buy an Autel TS508WF with a set (4) of metal stem MX sensors, and a rubber stem one for the spare. With the TPMS tool I was able to identify which of the four sensors was dead, and I just used the tool to program one to the same ID of the one from the ECU that had to data. All I had to do now was to take out the sensor from the tire and install the new sensor.

Here's the old sensor after breaking the tire seal with the taco factory jack:
    upload_2023-6-10_17-43-21.jpg

After installation and a short drive, the ECU recognized the new sensor as if it had never died:
    upload_2023-6-10_17-44-57.jpg

One thing I noticed is that the Autel MX sensor angle isn't exactly the same as the one that was installed, so it doesn't sit flush against the rim. There some minor play even though the stem is tight and there is no air leakage. I imagine that all is good and the sensor won't fly off the stem inside the rim at full speed.

Now that I'm familiar with the procedure, I need to replace the other sensors which have been there since 2009.... and install one in the spare tire as well. Then I need to tell the ECU to recognize the tire order (FL, FR, RR, RL) so when I get an alert I can just plug in the TPMS tool to the OBD port and know which tire triggered the alert.

20230610_144149[1].jpgCompleted a replacement jack handle since the kit was missing that part, which Husky Tool said would be 6-8 weeks out, and four hours later emailed that it is unavailable. I could take the kit back to Home Depot and wait for a replacement, but rather than subject a future customer with receiving this kit after it's back on a warehouse shelf, I drove to Pacific Steel for steel tubing. They're now commercial sales only, and referred me to a local welding and machining shop on the north side of Post Falls. After measuring diameter (a little under 7/8") and scaling the box images for length (23.98"), I drove out to the shop and farm, had a great visit with the owner and left with his "cut just over 24 inches" piece of schedule 40 steel tube. Spent the rest of Friday afternoon putting a smooth coat of Allis-Chalmers Orange from one of Dad's old spray paint cans that works, in three turns on an old newspaper. Happiness!
Pacific Steel said that they're not getting much from China, and we know the Port of Los Angeles hasn't been very busy as China switched their trade emphasis to domestic markets. They stopped accepting recyclables (1/3 of returning containers would be loaded with recyclable material that would otherwise have been empty in the past.) Another reason to do things local...
Now I'll be able to work under Barcelona Red and install the LCE Street Exhaust Header this summer.

I think there’s currently a “labor action” at the Port.

Check out my youtube channel for low quality videos that don't deserve to be on the internet. it would be awesome if you subscribed. It will be all tacoma all travel and all Dax the Wonder Dog.

I washed it and then prepped another flexzilla 1/4" airhose with ends. Ultimately, I will use the hose to connect up to my soon to be built rack mounted PVC pipe shower. Oh yeah, I also leveled out my rack it was 3/4" lower in the back.

Probably need new pads. There’s a wear indicator built into pads to make it squeak when they get worn to a certain thickness

I’ve been upgrading my sound system in my 22 Tacoma with JBL
After doing several upgrades I bumped on to the Audison Prima 2 inch speakers/tweeters in my case I already had components installed it actually created like a 3 way front stage when I installed them. I’m running them of the factory amp and I listened to them without the tweeters on my components and surprisingly what a difference in sound they do cover the range of a midrange around 200 hertz to about 16k hertz and they have a much better and smooth blend.
I think we Tacoma owners have gotten mislead to add tweeters in the factory dash locations and after trying both suggestions myself I can honestly say you could just replace the dashboard speakers with 2 inch Audison prima for a better result without sacrificing highs nor the high midrange spectrum. I have two tacomas and I have both set ups including the JL audio C7 tweeters and I’ll pick the setup with Audison Primas as a more natural sound hands down without the need for additional tweeters.

I like how affordable this looks to DIY, and the access it provides to storage

but with a common fridge atop it, it looks like opening the fridge lid would hit the headliner before opening halfway...

I really don't know what the solution for that is. Because if you look at expensive Goose Gear, while their top surface does have an access panel, I think if the fridge is sitting on top (low enough to open lid) that still accomplishes nothing because the fridge is otherwise on top blocking access. Unless it is removed.
Which is a pain. It would be big, heavy, full of stuff, with wires.

Unless maybe a platform can be made with hinges that can be lifted up out of the way by handles and lock upward temporarily (to access cubby), then lowered back down

Played with some nipples today (zerks that is)

Pumped fresh grease in the U joints, the old stuff that came out the other end looked like petrified dinosaur boogers.

Had a little Sunday drive after and it felt a little more smooth in shifts, 45-60 mph speed & park/reverse

Also gave me the opportunity to look under the skirt real good, I'm amazed how clean the thing is. Only rust is the exhaust
