Finally installed the MillerCat shield. Had it for months but wasn’t in a big hurry since it’s primarily safe at night.

Custom, only one ever designed and built interiors, heavily welded frame, all sharp metal turned bed rack and a roof top I made for $75. Power pedal, injen intake system, cat delete, summit racing brake proportioning valve controlled on the fly, slightly adjusted or perhaps unrecognizable ECM, built in under bed storage, high clearance rear built with 1/4" on a 6011 1/8" rod at 120 amps, 360 degrees of led light, a PA and CB, on board air, on board propane (to cook food), on board fridge made from an old red bull fridge found on some guys man cave built into the storage cubby under the back seat, imported tranny and clutch from a good friend over in Europe to replace this aisin junk we get, combined 32 gallons fuel capacity, 18 5 gallons of water storage, built in gun locker under RTT, and all it cost was to hear the wife ramble on about upset neighbors at 2 in the morning every night since I bought that damn truck..
So I'm back in the 3rd gen game. It's a bittersweet thing, but I sold my old hilux (and honda 300 fourtrax) to get my tacoma back on the road. Took some haggling to do it, but I had to get a new ECM and other odds and ends. The truck is in a sad state of affairs, but new parts are on the way. Cost me almost $12k but then I realized, I custom ordered this truck in 2019, paid $47 and have dropped at least $20k over the years. I've got too much skin in the game to quit now. Pics are soon to follow..

What happened to it that it took $12K in parts to get it back on the road??

I can't imagine having to prepare for that, but I suppose it becomes normal after a while.

Had my windshield replaced earlier this week. I asked about OEM replacement glass and they told me that it was currently on indefinite backorder for Tacomas. Ended up with Pilkington. Hopefully the Pilkington lasts longer than the previous OEM windshield.

ECM, harness, 4wd computer, 28 sensors etc. All electrical pretty much. Fuel system absolutely fried the circuitry and logged hard data to memory which kept trying to reset and smoked it

If you ever wondered if a box of siding would fit through the back window of your Taco, well now you know.
Billiebars were handy in supporting the 12' box as it drooped over the tailgate.
