Nice day for an oil change. Swapped in the 3rd Gen Off-Road Bilstein shocks and struts while it was in the air.

Went back under to try and knock it loose with lube spray and vise grips, and made it worse... guess I'll need to grind it off, but then what? :censored:

    20230611_134921.jpg

Also changed the oil and filter with Mobil1, and installed a Fumoto valve.

I was happy with sound by just upgrading to all Kickers in my premium non-JBL in my 3rd gen Sport. I also upgraded suspension, tires, wheels, grille, headlights, taillights, interior lights, seat covers, intake, exhaust and quite a few other things. The ultimate problem was that it was still a 3.5 liter 3rd gen. The best upgrade I found was going back to a 4.0 liter 2nd gen. Everything is much better now.

No dice. My patch collecting days are over. Just as bad :spending: as modding the truck.
Here's all my too-good-to-put-anywhere-else stuff. If you know, you know.

Well when you put it like that, I was finally motivated to do the same. I'd been putting it off for a couple weeks now. The zerk in front of the transfer case was still troublesome to reach, but a little more tolerable today.

Replaced both upper and lower radiator hoses, thermostat housing, gasket, Aisin thermostat (182) + gasket and 2 gals Peak 50/50 red asian antifreeze. Note: Those factory spring hose clamps can be a bugger without the right removal wrenches...lol

Changed the oil and did a little headlight polishing. Still some haze left so I may need to go at them again at some point. IMG_2447.jpg IMG_2450.jpg

    Just some stuff...
I’ve seen two different versions of these hitch lights on Amazon. One specifically for third gens and then there’s the generic version. Doesn’t seem to be much difference. Do you know if there is by any chance?
Edit: I just took another look. Looks like even the version for Jeep’s are the same. Weird.

I just did my headlight as well, I used the mothers headlight restoration kit and it worked great. Comes with an attachment for your drill and 800, 1500, and a 3000 grit pad and a buffing ball. Overall satisfied with how well it turned out.

Not much to it. Ordered 50" cross bars from tnutz, and had them thread the ends. Bought a 3/16"x 2" x 12' stick of aluminum. Cut and shaped it. Measured, measured, and measured again before I drilled my holes. Coated with bed liner amd put it all together. Once I get the replacement parts for the feet (folks over @ Sherpa have been amazing to work with and are sending me the needed replacement parts free of charge) it'll mate to the truck.

Over the weekend I finally got around to installing the 6112/650lb front suspension on my truck that has been sitting in its box for a long time. Used the truck weight method to compress the springs to attach to the top hat. Getting the passenger side to seat in the lower control arm was the biggest pain in the ass. Replaced the 5100/887 setup that was sagging due to more weight than I ever intended to have when I first lifted my truck. Got about 2 inches back in my lift which was nice but I am anticipating it settling a bit. Rides real nice, much firmer and less nose dive now with the added weight. Finally back to level instead of having some rake and the 650s hold up the armor and winch a whole lot better.

Good point! But I don't have a fridge so it's not a worry for me. This is very cheap to make and probably easy to sell for cheap if needed.
One thing you can do is lower the platform so it sits flat on the seat mounts. The cubby lids can snap off easy and you would have around 4-6" of room to access the storage. At this height, you can still have someone sit on the platform in an emergency (seatbelts aren't accessible). Someone can still sit on my platform but they need to sit forward and it's not very comfortable lol.

For me, I wanted to have 2 layers of storage and if needed to access my tools and other storage, I just need to take out a couple items.
