Try washing w/ white vinegar. Give a good secondary wash as you normally would to rinse off the vinegar. Should help to remove the deposits that you're seeing. If that doesnt do it, you have some really hard water that may have etched in to the paint and may require a paint cleaner or mild abbrasive to remove them.

I am with above. If that doew not work you might try a clay bar.

So hot outside, it left water spots? Must be nice!!!

Just polish 'em out bro. Get a mild polish, bust out the polisher, and that will make short work of them.

Plus, if it's that nice outside, you'll want your truck nicely detailed anyway! Consider this an excuse to detail!

It usually doesnt on water spots. Clay is good for removing contaminents on top of the surface. Water spots can etch in to the surface.

I usually use a 50/50 mix of distilled water and vinegar for water spots that can't be removed through a simple wash. If that doesn't get them out, they've probably etched your clearcoat. When that happens, I break out the polisher and some mildly abrasive polish and get to work. Whatever you do, make sure you apply wax afterward.

Remember: Always start with the least abrasive solution and work your way up. While sandpaper will get rid of water spots, it will also take a lot more work to repair the damage it does. (Please don't use sandpaper...)

Generally, water spots are from a combination of hard water and drying methods. The spots are usually mineral deposits left behind once the water evaporates. If the vehicle is allowed to air dry, they will be worse, because drying your vehicle (whether using a towel, chamois, leaf blower, or other drying device) will not only wick away the water, but take the sediments with it. You can prevent water spots by keeping a good coat of wax on the vehicle, and drying it quickly as you wash.

    HTH

I know, this a slightly older thread.... I have a spray bottle with 50/50 water and vinegar (distilled water works best). After I wash my truck, I do a quick dry with a large towel. I then spray the truck with the vinegar and dry again. Works great-we have some of the hardest water around.
