Do I have any leverage with the dealer here with a delay?

    Let me explain something...
If you don't take that truck whenever it comes in, late, early or on time, there is another guy right behind you who will take it bed lights and nitrogen fills too. So, be patient or find a different truck brand.

These be the times. If you need it by a deadline, buy one off the lot. Ordering an allocation has always been a game of the eternally patient.

I just don't get it. Every PIO installed on my truck is useful and adds value. I probably would have installed them anyway if the truck didn't have them.

They are if you’re picky. It took me 15 months to purchase a manual pro… and I ended up with another truck in between like you

You may think you don’t want them, but personally, the bed lights are a very, very useful option

Update- I told the sales guy my problem with the delay and the lights. They are dropping the price for the lights and giving them to me for free. Guess I picked a good dealer as they had no incentive to do that but did it anyways. Makes it more palatable to me. Thanks for putting up with me TW;)

Take off the bed lights and sell them when you get the truck. Get a loner car from the dealer. Sell the bed lights and reduce your “loss”. All golden.

Maybe I missed it, but I don’t think the bed lights are the issue here.
It was the delay on arrival. OP needs before 1 July.

Either way, I think he has a resolution now.

The $180 I save from the bed lights allows me to rent a vehicle to offset the delay for work for a couple days. So problem A. Fixed problem B.

    Awesome.
As long as it doesn’t get pushed back further, you are doing good.

Things are different in Canada, but none of the three dealers I went to would sign a contract with me for an allocation (vs one in the lot). They all offered to take a refundable down payment and they were all opened to negotiate anything, although they were all clear nothing negotiated would hold when they would receive the truck. If you were lucky enough for them to sign the contract with you (they signed, right?), then you know you should get the truck and at what price, but timing is a different story. They have to find one.

It’s interesting they offered to change the price on a signed contract for a truck they still didn’t have. They signed a new one with the updated price?
