Got so much intake vacuum it sucked the filter in!!!1!1 too much power baybeeee

looking at pictures of the radio.. i think the one you have would work... this mr2 has the cursed 3 amp setup.. im just looking to get a radio in it temporarily to have some kind of music.

 

That’s the best thing about the 5VZ: no EGR. Idk why Toyota put them on so many other 90s engines.

 

That explains the newer looking buttons. I have the factory amps for mine with the radio too I think. LC had the 9 speaker premium system

 

@Speedytech7 that radio is a standard double din right? i dont remember if the 80 series had the weirder longer faced radios or not.


if its a 15 pin connector it'll work.. that means it doesnt have an internal amp

It's the regular double din yeah, all 80s are. I'll dig the container out tomorrow for. I know it didn't have an internal amp cause I had to gut them out of the car first

 

im onto the fun shit of this car.. fixing the 2 owners agos mess

 

i'll go find the manuals again. i think they're with all the others.. everything got packed away when we finished the basement

 

What makes you want to use the factory stereo and amps? You can use all the factory wiring if you just unplug the amps and then wire in a regular aftermarket unit to the factory harness

 

shit.. that things probably got the anti theft radio shit..

 

Bad news. Some of them did have an EGR. The majority of them do not though

 

its purely because i dont want to pay for a radio right now. lol. i will redo it all when i pull the dash.. but i just need music for the summer
