I asked if my warrantied tail lights (since I have to pay for them) would have the brighter LED's and updated tabs that @Travis@Meso has talked about...

    Direct from The Retrofit Source/Morimoto:

There have been no changes to the LEDs, and unfortunately, there's no way to confirm that the replacements will have the updated tabs. I don't believe those have made their way into available inventory yet.

So basically even if you jump through all these hoops, you could end up in the same place you started from with the same LEDs and the same tabs that will auto-eject?

oof. I like Meso stuff but this is annoying. Now I have to wait ... again ... while pinging everyone to get a clear response ... ? Not good at all.

And thank you to everyone on the thread that's working the issue. Excellent work.

So what I need to do to fill the warranty is pay a deposit for the entire set of lights and then wait for them to be in stock. This will add me to a waiting list.
If I do not want to start the claim now and have them hold onto my deposit, I can wait for the claim but I assume I will be added to the end of waiting list.

Here is the shortened version of Headlight Revolution's warranty claim process as per their email.

(- Order number or copy of your invoice from the seller if you purchased from a third party.
    - A brief description of the issue.
    - Photos and/or videos of the issue described.

Additionally, you will also need to have an account with us for the replacement to be issued.

    - First and last name
    - Email address
    - Phone number
    - Shipping information
    - Card information

per our warranty process we do require a deposit for the cost of the lights to be taken.
We will also provide you with a prepaid shipping label so you can return your defective light.
Once we receive it your deposit will be refunded back onto your card.)

I kind of just want my money back at this point.

My latest update from the TheRetroFitSource:

"I would expect the new tail lights with updated tabs to be circulating in inventory over the next year"

Honestly (and I know I will probably get flamed by the Meso can do no wrong contingent) this takes Meso off my list for any future purchases.
    • IMHO they misrepresented this product as a Meso design/product which Morimoto was producing for them. As it ends up they were basically just acting as a Morimoto dealer even if he may have had some financial skin in the game. I think because of this people relied on Meso's reputation for quality products and customer service to pre-pay the amount of money they paid for tail lights.
    • Execution on this product was, shall we say, less than optimum, both from a delivery and quality standpoint.
    • Meso to a great extent is washing their hands of the issue and referring people directly to Morimoto for the numerous warranty claims that have resulted from the above. It's not like the warranty process is easy to deal with, and to add insult to injury there's no way to know if you will end up with a set of lights that are just as crappy as the originals that fell out.
    • Meso's low financial risk business model results in more than half of their offerings being out of stock at any given point. Some restocks don't occur for months.
Fortunately I chose not to purchase these lights because of the price, otherwise I'd be in this mess right along with you.

Well put and agreed. When I got my truck I had a lot of admiration for Meso. I bought a few things, but have gotten rid of all of them and the only one I really cared about was the Total Tail which has been superseded by a better brand anyways. I now have no Meso products on my truck and I'm happy about that, and won't be buying anymore after this shitshow.

For him to stop coming here (besides that one customer service dude floating around here as of late) but yet keeps on posting to the Instagram story tells me about all I need to know as far as their customer service goes. If peoples' $700 lights are falling off the truck, fixing that should be top priority whether it's a Morimoto, Meso, or shared issue.

Man I feel for you guys that are going through all this for warranty. It shouldn't be this difficult.

I was also one of the original Meso pre-order customers, and I have had zero issues with my set since I installed them. (Knock on wood)
    :fingerscrossed:

    Probably just jinxed myself...

I haven't kept up on this page for a bit.
After reading the past 15 or so pages it's kind of disappointing to be honest. I was on the original preorder as well and have sort of been a Meso fan boy in the past.
While I haven't had issues that I know of, I do feel that for the premium price that was paid, a premium product was not delivered. I have never been impressed with the brightness with these tail lights or with my V5 mirror turn signal lights either. I have the 360 camera on my truck and I used to be able to see my stage 2 tail lights blinking from the overhead view at night the brightness matched my OEM turn signals. They always put a smile on my face, now Im sort of like WTF? I can barely see these on a sunny day.
I am glad I never got rid of my Pro tail lights with the stage 2 lighting. I may just switch back to those so I don't have to worry about these issues that I've seen. Same with the mirror signals.
For $650 I don't feel like I should have to check to see if my tail lights are working or falling out on a consistent basis. Especially since I wheel a decent bit during the summer. Not completely dissatisfied but definitely a little bit:(

It’s pretty disappointing too that when asked about MESO’s status, the response is that he is now ‘inactive’ in this forum. WTF?!

I also feel like I have a ticking timebomb with this taillights set. I’d probably just include it if I decide to trade up to a 4th gen in the future…

Clearly he just wants to wash his hands of this. Count me as another person who will never buy another MESO item again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice….

I also was one of the original pre-order customers (MESO-Stu) and, so far they've been installed a year and 2 months...no problems and no issues.

FWIW I just got a shipping notification from Morimoto for my warrantied tail light replacement. Took about 2 weeks from initial claim.

    We'll see how it goes....

Well shiiiiiittttt...I just ordered clear meso/moto tails and switchbacks a couple days ago. Just got shipping notification on both item. Contemplating just turning them right back around and returning all of it. Damn, I'm new to the taco space, I thought Morimoto and Meso were top players in the space.
