Keep all the receipts, and a note of the service that was done. I s'pose a pic or 3 would be helpful, too. I have it all in a 3 ring binder. Date, mileage, and the work done. The receipt ink will totally fade over time.
I should get rid of the Camry's history. That was totaled a year and a half year ago.

That’s why you use fancy tools like tubing and a bucket. And your brain, the most important tool of all.

Don’t take my word for it, I got the idea from the internet and of course everything is true on the internet.

Sounds like a lot of extra work for the chance at getting an extra $20 trade in

I track when I last did maintenance but that’s about it. Anything ordered online gets shoved in a truck stuff folder, mostly incase I need it some day for insurance.

    Thank you!

Come to think of it; I probably have a few good ones in my library already. :D

What's a trade in? When I'm done with a vehicle, it's ready for the scrapyard.
I've never had a new vehicle. Always bought used. The wife on the other hand, has had 2 new ones. We keep 'em from the showroom to the junkyard. I think I've scrapped 9 vehicles. Never have sold one.

You could use the money for a lift, skids and sliders. We seen just how important sliders are.

    Quite true!
Now to truly be "sliders" they should be coated with Delron. Just saying.

Thanks for the thread, way more detailed and straightforward. 3 Gal of Amsoil ATF are on the way so I can do it this way. Might order two more quarts just in case.

Ya'll really know how to convince a guy to spend more :spending:

Edit: The Amsoil membership saved me a little over $40 so can't complain about that!

Just keep in mind that particular thread is for 2nd gen transmission. Your 3rd gen process is a little different but same idea, you'll have to put ideas from both threads together to make it work.

Fair point. I'm at work so I'm skimming and missed that detail. Really interesting how varied the methods (and opinions) to this procedure are.
