If you go to those links you can export the KML/KMZ to use in most gps apps. I have been using GPX viewer Pro (aquired from a source, yay for android sideloading) and use it for offline maps use. Worked great.

I setup an unused Samsung A12 I have as my dedicated GPS on the bike, put in airplane mode. If I got service for a sec on my main phone id turn on hotspot, open up google maps (with offline maps downloaded for the area) and use a link i created for turn by turn directions and run both the google maps turn by turn in a PiP on top of gpx viewer. Was super happy with this setup for the first time use.

I hear you, no judgement there. Too many distracted drivers on the road. I was hit by someone last year and got pretty banged up so definitely understand the potential consequences. But ultimately decided not to let that stop me from doing what I love, and luckily my wife was supportive too.

Another option is riding track or off road - still a risk to your health but at least it takes car traffic out of the equation.

Motorcycles aren't an automatic death sentence though. In fact, I think it's still the case that most crashes are either preventable, the fault of the motorcyclist or were much worse due to poor decisions (lack of gear, etc).

It was an 86 and it was rough. So all I am seeing is freaking junk,,, drove for 1hr 40min to see a junk 2004 Tacoma. The one in the pics. Looks good in pics but in real life it’s junk. Suspension shot, oil leaking from engine, Manual trans leak and transfer case leaking. Carrier bearing shot with driveline just dangling in it. U joints shot. Dents and scratches all over. Aarrgg tired of looking now. Time to just play with my Monkey and Grom. Lol

oh been there was looking for a 4wd truck. pictures looked good paint was nice. wheels and tires nice etc. pulled up to the guys house mind you 2hours away, after being told it was in great shape. bed was full of roofing shingle and scrap. a busted out rear window. bald tires. and the guy walks out and says "so you want it or not?" I showed him the pics he sent me, and he says "Well those are the pictures I had. you should have known it wasn't going to be perfect." perfect no. but not completely the opposite of the pictures. always sucks when something is told its great and its not!

People suck. That's the kind of thing that has pushed me to buy new whenever possible. At least I know what I'm getting from dealership d-bags. (Taco purchase was awesome people, though)

I know we all ride different styles of two wheelers, but a contractor I see every now and then, that works for my company has moved up from years of Hare Scrambles to the National Enduro Series. I find it cool as hell for a 60+ year old dude to do so. He just did a race last weekend down in Georgia. I need to look it up and see how he did.

    That is all.

Way back when, I did some looking in to this. My (half vast) recollection is if you controlled for alcohol on the motorcycle stats, the collision risk was about the same as a car. Mixing alcohol and motorcycles, though...oof. I've never had any amount of alcohol while on the bike. I'd add I won't ride in proximity with folks who are drinking and riding, but, well, I prefer to cycle alone anyway so that's not much of an issue.

Nope. But its been on since 1900 miles, and not just for the trip.

found out from other friends that it's from hard braking. So tomorrow ill try to use more engine braking and rear brakes, and hopefully it will even out.

If not, im 380 miles from home. I will get there and order a new front
