I am the original owner of my 2002 Tacoma DC. I had it serviced at the selling dealer for the first 40,000 miles, and have all records to show for it. None of those records show on the database. My first record shows 11/2005 at 45,000 miles from a different Toyota dealer. On the FAQ on the website it states that some areas were recording from 2004, others were not going until 2007.

As a side note, I recently had access to CarFax free for a month, and checked my truck. The recent (1/2011) oil change I got at a Goodyear Tire Center was listed in the service records part.

I checked mine and most of the listing had no information, just this listed

*** OPCODE NOT ON REPORT ***

with the dearler name, date, mileage, and RO#. Does that mean they were too lazy to enter a code for the work done?

Im glad that that link was useful for some of you. My taco has like 5 pages of dealer visits. I guess there are some lazy dudes in some service depts that dont turn stuff in. That sucks.

Lots of new people come to the game every day, and have never heard any of this. Some have never owned a Toyota or let alone a very used Tacoma before, and may have just registered on TW and never been on a vehicle forum before. All of us were once ignorant of things that we take as "common knowledge" now.

I didn't know about the lower ball joint reacall until last year. Someone posted the Toyota site info, I used it, and my truck was affected by the recall, but they had not been replaced. It may have saved my life from a high-speed wreck...

So let's just keep sharing and not judging, OK? :D

I can't get the site to accept my phone number. I get this prompt "
First Driver Primary Phone number is invalid. Please re-enter the ten-digit number"

The info I input is pretty much area, prefix and number. Any ideas?
