I think the theft device is nice, I was just saying thieves don’t care about anything and I think all I meant to say and I’ll admit did a poor job at it was just lock the tailgate and if they want it still they’ll get it or mess your truck up trying regardless.

I def wasn’t putting down your product - not my style but after a few pings and misunderstood posts and I do get defensive but I apologize to you publicly as I didn’t mean any ill will. I made a quick post and some didn’t like it. Sorry dude

No worries my friend, no offense taken, all I was saying is there's a false sense of security with a plastic lock, and any other protection added to that will be more effective, weather it's a hose clamp, my ATD or any other dozens of products out the. Hope you have a wonderful father's day.

I'm a little late in posting, but I finally got it installed and here are the pics. I saw this in January and contacted Christian06 (thank you sir). It is substantial and the paint is worth it. He does a great job and kept me in the loop. This is a small, minimalistic, under-stated security product that doesn't scrape or interfere with anything. I am very happy with it!

I thought about this one. I did not chose it due to the idea of how to remove it if it gets corroded. No room to work, no way to drill it. Cutting or grinding it would be a nightmare

 

Every other month or so I just spray a little WD40 on the key mechanism, all good

 

I’m going to start doing the same from now on. Have the Sabellco and needed to take it off last week. First time I’ve done it in over a year. It took me about 15 minutes with some pliers, a rubber hammer and a liberal spray of PB Blaster.

 

The anti theft device don't corrode, and you won't lose the key, lol

 

I picked up the tavaski one and it required a few healthy wacks with a wood block for it to settle in..it wasn't till afterwards that i thought hmm, maybe it would have worked better if i cleared the mud away first..not sure about the sabelco one but the tavaski required some of the screws on the tailgate cover to be removed, there is a lip on the cover that prevents a simple drop in solution. meah, but it also means even if they pry the lock when the tailgate is up, they still have to mess with it not coming free easily.

@christian06 Thank you for the tailgate security. I was able to get some assistance with the install. After multiple applications of googone and other leverage, it looks good. We can tell it is not an exact silver to silver match looking up close. However, it looks great where it is and my friend with the Chevrolet and other friend with the GMC were thinking they needed something similar.

Too bad they didn’t buy TOYOTA.

 

If I had a Chevy or GMC, I would make them as well, I do have one in the works for Ford f250

 

-You have a very nice product here. I wish I'd seen this thread before spending $50 3 years ago for one that was a PITA to install.
