LMAO no its not the death of gas saws. Don't get me wrong, I'm not some old fogie that thinks power equipment will always have a engine, that lil walkbehind has its place... but battery saws can't handle anything bigger than a 14" blade, 16" tops. 20" and up needs to be corded if you want electric. Maybe generators will be replaced with massive mobile battery banks, but shit is still gunna be corded. It's the only way to get the required torque to run a 30"+ blade.

Don't know if you've ever seen em but slab saws regularly run 42" or 56" blades. Back when wolverine was part of Concut (they made diamond segments and blades) Biggest I've seen is 84" for a special saw

The main benefit of those things is most buildings won't let you cut with an engine due to fumes anymore. All our line cut guys run electric. Prob gonna all be battery soon. I like a good ole fashion mixed gas motor. I think its funny when people ask me why I don't use electric chain saws.
