If you did wheelies you wouldn’t have this problem!

Got the bike out, changed the oil, cleaned the chain and gave her a quickie wash. The rear brake works about 40%. I literally dont understand it. When i’m riding and going along, the rear brake works decent. When i leave it sit, it has no pressure or feedback at all. But i can pump it up and it’ll work again…

Does it have a directional arrow on it? A lot of them you can flip.

Would you buy this truck? Look at the price then look at the miles. Crazy but I want it. Even the bed of the truck looks brand new. Only thing that worries me is dried up seals and gaskets?? It’s like buying a brand new 22 year old truck.

Without something like a carfax to prove mileage I would guess they swapped the motor and that's the miles on the new one. I've seen that gimmick before.

What pressure are you running? My Buell and FJR both exhibit that issue if you run the recommended tire pressures. If you run them 2-6 pounds above the bike manufacturer's suggested pressure it helps a lot. Hard braking does contribute to it as most of your baking power is on the front but it's not the only cause. The tires on both of the bikes I mentioned are dual compound tires and that type of tire will almost always do it after some miles pile up. I've read different article that have suggested the cupping might be a result also of the differences between the compounds of the tire and where they meet.

At this point that tire is pretty far gone to try and rectify it. If noticed sooner a pressure change may have slowed that degradation.

I thtit has at least 5k on it. Its definitely done. Going to try using more rear brakes on the way home today, hopefully it will even out. But there is definitely vibes and noise from it.

For a few days before the trip, I think it was low on pressure. I fixed that at the start, but just noticed this. Im one day away from home, in Poughkeepsie, so hopefully i can make it home.

Im not riding for a while after this trip. I think I've already done 1200+ miles. Ill get an exact number when I'm home. Not sure if I like bike camping haha. I love truck camping more.. hmm

If caught early enough you can add air pressure and sometimes get lucky enough to even out the wear pattern. With a knobby tread pattern like that and the way it looks in the picture you might be past the point of saving it. My FJR for example the sticker on the swingarm calls for 36 psi in both front and rear tires. Forum regulars and guys who have owned multiple FJRs and put on big miles have all suggested going up to 42 psi front and rear or even 43 psi front to alleviate the cupping. I've been running 42 psi in both and my last pair of tires made it almost 13k miles.

I actually ran into another FJR owner at a bike event with a for sale sign on his windscreen and asked why he was selling it. He told me the handling just wasn't up to what he felt it should be and we talked for a bit. Told me he was at the factory recommended 36 psi and I suggested going up to 42 psi like I had done. I also told him to join one of the forums I'm on and that there was a big FJR meet coming up later that same month in WV. Fast forward 3 weeks and as I'm registering at the event this same guy comes up and thanks me profusely for keeping him from making a huge mistake and selling his bike. Said he stopped on his way home from that first meeting and aired up and was blown away at the improvement in ride quality and handling.

I hear you there. I've got a buddy that wants to push into bike camping, and I had to tell him that's a non starter for me. I got a RTT for the truck for that, and I'll be damned if I'm sleeping on the ground or in a hammock. If I want the bike at camp I'll tow it out, but I'm using that RTT. It's too nice not to.

When is the last time you've bled the rear brake? You could have some air in the line. Also, brake fluid is hygroscopic, so it could have absorbed an excess amount moisture. Either of those can lead to the issue you're experiencing. If the fluid is over 2 years old, best to change it with new DOT 4 and a bleed the system.

They have the car fax report and it’s a one owner local vehicle. Mileage is verified.

Well damn. If all you need is a little 2wd runner, it'd last forever. The price is a bit much, though.

Yes the price is a bit high but damn. It’s also at a Toyota dealership.

If they'd go through and redo the seals and such that can die from time, or if they'd give me a warranty on all of them for 100K, then I'd consider it at the price it's at. Otherwise, they gotta come down on the price.

Yes, but unless they always want to have it, they need to work the price a bit IMO. I honestly wouldn't pay 10K for a 2WD truck. Where I live, you can't use one for several months of the year. Makes no practical sense for me.
