Would that affect the gas mileage?
Where can one get this tune done, the dealership?

It can help gas mileage but mainly will help with shifting and the gear hunting. There is a thread on that specific tune. You will typically need to find a local tuner to help you out.

Does anyone know if the spare compartment of this TRD Pro with stock tires of 265/70/16 will accommodate a 265/75/16 tire?

Definitely will. I have a 255/85/16 which is a skinny 33" and it fits. I have also heard of guys fitting 285's in there which is a wider 33". I'd just make sure it's not touching the exhaust pipe when pulling it up:thumbsup:

My understanding was that the largest tires which will fit a stock setup without issues are the 265/75/16.
    Is that true?

    Short answer is yes.
But.... There is a whole thread on fitting 255/85/16's with a majority of guys experiencing no rubbing or the very slightest in extreme 4 wheeling circumstances, which I have experienced but that was with the suspension flexed to the max while turning around and the steering wheel turned completely. Now if you go to 285's, you will most definitely have to do some trimming and possibly a cab mount chop or relocation. Though there are some guys that say no rubbing there too but I suspect they are mall crawlers mainly. There's a whole thread on that as well.

Also fits a 235/85/16…which is a nice size if you are looking to get some more off-roady options.

The OP mentioned they had a manual, so 255/85/16 is an option with the TRD lift (that’s what I’m doing) but worth noting that combination makes you too big for some parking garages. Looks awesome though and beastly in the mountains.

In answer to your original query: get the RAV4 radio knobs and a bed mat. The Pro is a nearly complete package.
I fully support your choice in getting the manual.

What's the advantage of the RAV4 radio knobs? Something to do with looks or functionality?

They stick out a bit further and have a “grippy” finish. Do a search on TW for a long thread on them.
No need to change if you use the steering wheel mounted controls, but they are a solution to the issue of accidentally touching the screen if you use the knobs to tune or adjust volume.

I have a 23 Pro and it rides great . Mine came with the tailgate lock and I do like the feature if yours doesn't have it. I also have a soft trifold cover that I moved from my other Tacoma, comes in handy for hauling and keeping things dry. The only thing I will do to mine is change the tires to a more aggressive look and size eventually. I had Falken wildpeak at 3w 265 75 16 on my last Tacoma and really liked the look and the ride. Lots of good looking tires and choices but I did like the 265 75 16.size. One other I guess that I will do are the bed lights as a hunter with the bed cover the lights would come in handy getting your stuff out early mornings . Other than that the Pro has everything you could ever want . Good luck with your new truck , enjoy!

Thanks again guys for the helpful information.

Another thing I've heard about the 2023 Tacoma is that the A/C is a bit weak, especially in very hot environments it really doesn't cool well. That's apparently because it doesn't come stock with an auxiliary fan. But that can be an add-on with a factory kit.

Is this true and do you guys recommend an auxiliary fan add-on?

All that came on my pro minus better tires and tune. Our 4runner pro came with better aggressive looking tires.

Haven't heard issues on here about the AC but maybe I've just missed it. My AC blows ice cold at 90+ and the heat is even better at -20

Is "shifting and gear hunting" even an issue with the 6spd manual?

Just received word that my truck is ready to be picked up.
If I order new BF Goodrich A/T KO2 a little taller at 75, can I keep the original spare which is 265/70/16?
Any reason to order the 265/75/16 tires?

The slight difference in the size of a spare is not a problem if you get the new tire fairly quickly.
The 265/75R16 is an excellent choice and the extra ½ inch of clearance is handy sometimes.

No. For the manual, the main benefits of tuning are a marginal increase of low end torque and better throttle response. I'd recommend researching OTT (Overland Torque Tune) among others if you're interested. But definitely drive it and get a feel for how you like it first.

Some people run smaller or stock spare tires, but I believe there are some downsides to that if you have to drive on it for longer periods of time. Personally, I always upgrade my spare tire size to match when upgrading tires.
