Thanks Jason. Yea, it blows. I'm just glad they didn't take my Tacoma! I'd be a lot more upset if that one had disappeared.

Aroura PD has located the truck! A neighbor saw it and reported it in. Only missing the spare tire out of the back. It is now safe and sound down in castle rock. Appreciate everyone who posted on social media!

I'd dig through it with a pair of poke-resistant gloves. Aroura typically doesn't search outside-agency recovered stolen vehicles for contraband before they return them.

"Badlands" had me thinking winch and I was trying to figure out what a "load equalizer" for a winch was.

LED turn signals?? can't you just wire a resistor inline?

Yes and yes. But the resistors get hot too. The orange one was a much older model, the black one is the updated "solid state" version that claims to not get hot and is rated for parade use (constant emergency flashers)
The only LED's are the rear turns.
So bikers install LED's for two reasons,
    1-low power draw
    2-brighter and easier to see.
Both of these are negated by the fact that you need a load equalizer which simulates the draw,(causes heat and melts shit)
and, they usually put tiny LED's on because "they look cool". Being smaller kind of defeats the purpose of "being seen" :notsure:
Going back to stock is another option, but finding stock lights for this is an Ebay buy and the equalizer was cheaper.

Is the black one shot too or are you just trying to flex with your super duper load??

He got the dash back in, everything works. Gonna bring it to my driveway on Saturday so we can flush the cooling system, change the oil and check the transmission/transfer case, front and rear end oil levels. If there is time, we'll straighten out the front bumper and remount it and the winch.

I can think of a third... Not having to replace the damn burned out bulbs.
I wonder if you could also get a relay that didn't hyperflash.
