    Stock-ish
Hard to say. I only had them on for about a month before I found a deal on the bumper, but I had no issues on the forest roads during that time. I know it looks like it’s touching at the back, but there was room to breathe between the tire and the liner. Just couldn’t get a picture to show it. Stock upper and lower control arms as well. The local alignment shop tech hasn’t even twitched whenever I take the truck in. I’ve been totally happy with them so far though. Biggest and most aggressive tire I’ve ever ran, and I have no regerts.

Nice! I wish they made more sizes for the 16” wheel but that’s the case with most tires these days

Thanks! I’ve extensively researched the 255/85/16 tires. I have run the Yoko g003’s, at this point the ST Maxx’s are the only other ones I may try in 255.

My head is about to burst! I want 17" Method 703s or SCS Blaze 10s. For my life I cant figure out what bs/offset I will need to run a skinny tire. I want Falken Wildpeak A/T3Ws and finding a skinny size that is not too tall and wont rub is maddening.

If you want a small wheel poke with a tall and skinny tire, our 17x8.5 -10mm is a great option. However, if you want no wheel poke at all then you'll want something more conservative wheel size. In that case, Method might offer something less aggressive.

If you look through my recent posts, there is photos of my 255/80/17's on SCS 17x8.5 SR8's. It's on a 4Runner, but you get the idea.

Rubbing mostly comes from wheel offset and tire width. 255 80 17 should fit stock without rubbing but I put them on 0 offset wheels and thy rubbed a bit during compression.

I think 0 offset provides enough poke without looking dumb. Keep in mind ride height effects your track width in the front. I am at 1"

So 235/85 17 Falken Wildpeak at3w on a 17x 8.5" wheel. The wheel size for that tire is 6 to 7.5" so is this going to work or do I have to go down to a 16x7"wheel? Thanks for your help.

A 8.5" wheel will not work. As you said falken says 6-7.5" so it is best to stay inside that. I honestly think a 8.5" wheel is a bit wide for 255 80r17.

Yes, the RRWs or Methods are 8.5", so either get a TRD wheel in a 17 or go 16s I guess.

Yep thats the issue I have. I just want a company to make a 17x7.5 0 offset wheel. I have RRW's now and they are ok, just a little wider then I would like and it flattens out the sidewall of the tire.

Installed 255/80r17 Ridge Grappler's last week, really happy I went this route. Rubbed on the OEM front mud flaps on hard turns. I have an alignment scheduled for tomorrow, but am holding my breath to see if that makes a difference considering that I'm running stock UCAs. I'm running Bilstein 6112/5160 on the 9/7 perch, which gave me about 1.5" of lift in the front and 1.75" in the rear. No CMC.

Have yet to take them off-road, but excited to hit the trails. Truck definitely feels taller.

I've included a photo of my previous tires (265/70r17 Toyo AT3s) as well, taken from a tripod in the same location. Thanks for the thread!

The Toyo ATIII says 8.5” is the widest to go. That’s what I’m running. Haven’t wheeled or aired them down yet though.

    Okay...

Somebody go get some of the new Falken Wildpeak R/T01's mounted. Preferably in a 17x8.5 -10mm SCS F5 wheel so I can see what they might look like on my Taco. Make sure to take plenty of pictures too. Also, try not to take those pics with the sun on the far side of the truck to make it look like you are driving on a set of shadows. Hahaha. But seriously, I'd love to see what these new tires look like in a tall skinny.

Alpha Wheels www.alphaequipt.com make a 17x7.5. It's called the Foxtrot Pizza Cutter. Just put a set on my Tacoma. Last I checked they were on sale for <$160 a piece.

Glad someone makes a narrower wheel. Too bad I don't like any of their designs :(
It's really strange to me that it's so hard to find narrow wheels. All these wide tires, wide wheels and negative offsets are just causing people more rubbing issues than needed.
