Westcott designs lift with topper, how to avoid squatting?

Hey everyone, I have a 2021 TRD pro with an ARE topper. I just ordered the westcott designs lift (and some 33 pizza cutters) and I'm worried that with the added weight from my topper, the truck will be slightly squatted instead of level. Should I add a leaf spring? I know people say you don't need an extra leaf for just a light weight topper with factory rake, but in this case, maybe I should?

    Thank you for your help.

I'd do the wait and see approach. AAL if necessary

Get the weight of your topper, it’s probably 200 or so pounds. Add that same number to the bed and see for yourself. I’m willing to bet you do. Even better, go for a test drive,,,, if that added weight isn’t your drinking buddy.

I added the ICON RXT stage 2 leafpack

I have a topper and zero sag and it rides great.

I would, even though the topper is light, they tend to make the factory springs sag.
Rear high is waaay better than nose high.

^ I would suggest this route if its in your budget. I did an AAL and 1.5 years later its beginning to sag with any additional load.

I also vote for a full leaf pack. I have Bilstein 5100’s set to the top notch. I also have the Icon AAL.

Right now my truck is perfectly level but I’m sure by the end of the year it will start to permanently sag because I load it down for trips.

Eventually I’ll have to get a full leaf pack. It’s fine right now but I wish I would have just done the full leaf pack in the first place just so I didn’t have to buy twice. I thought the AAL was going to give me more of a slight rake but it just barely kept the truck level.

    BTW, Nice wheels @Halloween

I bought the all black center caps too. They don’t match perfectly though. No good pics but here’s one lol

Also check out sumo springs. They can combat sag when u have a load. I run them. It’s just a nice bump stop - there’s some videos on YT as well

Nice!! I know on the Black Rhino website it says they work with the TRD center caps but I’ve never been able to figure out which ones would fit. I’ve asked all over the place and no one knows.

I would at least go w/ RXT at Level 1.

All I know is, I went from AAL to Icon RXT (@ level 2) and finally ended up at level 3. But in my case, over time, I added an RSI Smart Cap, Decked drawers and a 4-person RTT.

Very good point! Even if the sag is visually acceptable, the additional unloaded weight is going to change ride and REALLY suck when loaded.
With a topper and a Decked system, mine was no kidding,,, bouncin’ off the bump stops unsafe.

Was wondering if anyone was going to mention these. OP, Talk with their customer service to figure out which to get for your setup and planned use

On my truck I had a fiberglass canopy stock suspension- in a year my rear sagged noticeably. I added a 3 leaf and the sumo springs and it raised me back up (plus a little extra). Perfect for my use and now I have no worry of extreme sagging loaded with the sumos and by extension prolonged leafs
