A few photos from the trip. Airing down on Saturday morning, I was caught taking a candid shot.

    20230610-tacoBearpawOffroading-01.jpg

Misleading photo angle from the top of that one hill.

    20230610-tacoBearpawOffroading-02.jpg

Less misleading angle from the bottom of the hill.

@pearing are there any firm details yet for your October outing? And is the intention for it to be your favorite type of scratchy & winchy expeditions? Just curious, trying to plan fall trips and making sure to keep options open if I'm in the area.

Are you referring to the Bayfield trip?

Dates should be in the OP. I think the plan was to do some more challenging stuff on Friday, and then an easy run on Saturday.

I don't believe we have established a camping location yet. We usually hit the Apple Festival on Friday, but I would also consider doing that on Saturday instead, if it works better.

    I like it.
Camping at the same place as last year?
If we go to Apple Fest on Saturday I will probably see people I know. Not sure if that's good or not.

I was considering the possibility of camping somewhere different, depending on where the trail runs @pearing is planning are going to take us. But, I'm definitely not opposed to going to the same place, as that is a nice location.

The Birch grove CG seems to fit our needs well and is close to Bayfield. Long drive to wheeling. Not sure the Beaver Lake CG is as nice anyway.
Friday I have, in the words of @wi_taco a "winchy, scratchy" route planned for those up for some fun. Saturday a similar Fire tower tour as last year with some new places added for color I hope.

Thanks guys, I saw the dates but couldn’t recall if any of the other details were posted somewhere.

Beaver Lake CG isn’t super posh from what I remember. Individual sites with I believe a single outhouse. Don’t go there 4th of July weekend, you’re liable to get eaten alive by the flies.

Edit: I just remembered there are lots of lakes named Beaver Lake, especially in that area. The one I was thinking of is quite a distance away (south of St Peters Dome area) so I'm crossing out my comment.

Just got around to checking my filter after that trip. Nary a spec o' dust. Okay, there was a trace. But I was pleasantly surprised. Snorkel for the win!
