22's still have this issue? WTF, why can't they do it right! just had mine replaced on my 16. thinking about getting a 23 but if these same things still exist maybe not, i thought all that had been corrected. might go in a different direction.

    2016 SR5 - 120k miles.
Other than oil changes(engine, differentials, transmission, transfer case) spark plugs and air filters I had to replace the following:
Battery went out at ~7k miles
    Battery terminals at ~110k miles
Replaced both CV axle boots at ~90k miles
    Replaced HU at ~110k miles

2020 4x4 OR. 25000 miles. Replaced the battery at 24000 but only because it was original & 4 years old. Never any issues with starting. Just being cautious. No other issues so far.

2020 2.7l 29000 and so far I've done oil changes, tire rotations, refilled washer fluid, and changed the air filters. I do need an alignment, but that one is on me.

22 off road in ice cap. 15k, lifted it at 2k. No issues, still have to do the child seat inspection recall. Been keeping a close eye on the paint but no issues.

'22 TRD ORP. Only a year old at the end of the month and 15.5k miles. So far no issues. Bilstein 6112/5160 2" front lift with a 1.5" aal at around 9k miles and some 255/85r16 Wildpeak MT01 tires at 11k which weights about 20 lbs more than stock tires. I don't even know if my needle bearing has gone bad after the lift. If it has, I can't hear or feel it because of the loud ass mud tires. I probably will do uca either as my next mod or after tint because looking at the tires from the front of the truck looks like the left and right tires make a subtle v shape so toe needs adjusting. Maybe the uca will improving steering, it feels lighter and more vague with the MTs compared to stock.

I think the coolant bypass tube thing is pretty rare now. So I don’t think I would let that worry me. As far as other stuff if your buying a 23 I would say it should be pretty reliable by todays standards . If you feel a little uneasy buy a extended warranty that will at least cover you for anything that crops up pretty much. Luckily the Gen 3 Tacoma is still old school . As time goes on all vehicles will be off the charts complicated and reliability on most brands will be sketchy at best .

‘19 with 25k mi. Nothing major yet, but I have had some annoyances.

The stock battery was garbage after only a couple years. Leaked everywhere. Dealership refused to fix.

    Low pressure fuel pump recall.

The A/C is pretty weak. Dealership: “normal”

The hood latch is acting up, and won’t consistently pop open the hood. Cleaning the mechanism did not help. I haven’t brought it up with the dealership yet but hopefully they fix it.

Sucks because I was led to believe that these trucks are bulletproof all around, when it's the drive train that's pretty bullet proof but the rest of the truck might fall apart around you, my 2022 at 10k had peeling paint, passenger rear door creaked like CRAZY. My tailgate was stuck half the time and the dealer said it was normal. My rear bumper and bed and hood were all terribly misaligned. The quality was not there. Hope my 2023 is better since it wasn't built at the height of COVID craziness where they were rushing trucks fast as possible

My '22 Limited (with TRD lift installed on day one) will turn a year old next month and so far zero issues; absolutely love the truck. It's my fourth Tacoma since 2012 and definitely my favorite.

I'd have to agree on the a/c, it's no better in our prius. Soon as the temps are over 95 degrees, the a/c becomes nearly useless, but I understand toyota has a fix for it if you require it. As far as anything else, my truck has been perfect going on 23k miles, and change.

I came to see how everyone was doing with their truck but since I'm here....

.about 50k on a 19 SR 2.7L no issues.... other than the noise it makes after it's off some kind of evap thing as I recall and that has pretty much stopped also..... I'd say my truck actually runs better and quieter than new now....

I do tend to baby it as I want to get high mileage out of it and with the 2.7 motor it is entirely possible.....

the 2,7L is fantastically reliable supposedly but also slow as $#!t too. I'm fine with that though, it aint no sports car...

About to hit 89k miles. Timing cover resealed at 77k, rear brake light recall done at the same time. All covered under extended warranty. Meticulous about maintenance, 5k OCI. Other than that the thing is tip top. Absolutely love my truck, rattles and vibrates here and there but its a truck and i wheel it almost daily. Best vehicle ive owned so far.
