 This from the guy that states a 2 stage trigger has less trigger pull weight than a single stage? And JDMCQ is correct about the RRA's, and DPMS. They are more budget peices. CMMG for example, is twards the higher end.

I'm happy to discuss the trigger characteristics in more detail.
I don't dis on CMMG but I can see you don't have a real good understanding of RRA.
Care to ask me something more specific?...start a different thread so we don't hijack?

Im well aware of the different trigger characteristics, as well as having a pretty good understanding of the other AR components, but thanks.

Makes me like my Ameetec better and better :)

It is pretty well known that a few machine shops finish the raw castings to others specs. Some say that you should choose the manufacturer logo you like the best when selecting a lower.

Perhaps it would behoove you to delve a little deeper into some ifo availible inline, rather than to make stabs at others, while trying to pass your word as gosple.

If I posted that link at TheFiringLine, the Colt fanboys would piss their pants.
If you captured it on video, it would get a million hits.

Im not saying Colt is bad. They are better than RRA....Im just saying, you try to pass your oppinions off as fact, without posting info to justify it. Then, try to throw insults, yet still not providing a factual basis.

I'm pretty sure those are FORGED lowers.
Olympic, Hesse/Vulcan are the only cast lowers I can think of, there may be others.
And yes, I'm aware different vendors can spec different logos and finishes from the same suppliers.
I use that one all the time when somebody tells me how great the parts are in their favorite brand.

I thought the same thing re your comment about two-stage triggers....I've never heard anyone suggest anything other than a Timney, Jewell, or Gieselle could compare to a RockRiver two stage.
I know two respected Camp Perry competitors that say Rock River is probably the most-used trigger there.
Is it the take-up weight or the break you're challenging?

Timney Manufacturing Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona has long been in the business of supplying better triggers to riflemen. Most factory triggers installed on rifles are lacking in feel, and are heavy on the pull weight. Timney specializes in making improved triggers for many rifles. A few months ago, I heard that Timney had designed a drop-in AR-15 trigger/hammer unit, and have been wanting to try one out ever since. A few days ago, the Timney unit arrived.
One of the most popular rifles in the free world is the AR-15. The design has proven itself world-over for more than forty years as the fully automatic M-16 and M-4 rifles, and the civilian AR-15 is more popular than ever. The design is reliable, and the rifles can be made to shoot very accurately. AR-15 rifles are produced by more than a dozen companies, and most are very good, but most also have the standard military trigger pull, which can run from about five to over eight pounds. For plinking rocks and for social work, the standard AR trigger is acceptable, but for target work and hunting, it leaves a lot to be desired. The standard AR trigger as found on most rifles, besides being hard to pull, has excessive grittiness and travel. There are a few good aftermarket triggers available, but most take more time, patience, and skill to install than the average shooter possesses.

    http://www.ammoland.com/2009/03/12/ar-15-trigger-job/
    '
The issue trigger and hammer used on Colt and other AR-15 type rifles and carbines leave a lot to be desired if you are a match rifle shooter or a varmint hunter. We even get calls from casual AR-15 plinkers complaining about the trigger pull. Remember, the AR-15 was designed as a battle rifle and to that end it has few peers. Almost every “factory” trigger is set up with a pull weight that will usually break somewhere between five to eight pounds, with significant amounts of creep and over-travel built in. That’s safe for the troops but not much fun to shoot.'
