I just have the springs also. I might have to get a different fork oil. I will mix some 15 with some 7 that I have and see how that does.

Here is the bounce test from my video: https://youtu.be/FcFwz89YQYY?t=1554

I also got the kit with the aluminum spacers, forgot to mention that. I don't think I've bottomed them out since I put them in. In the corners pushing the suspension hard it feels great and dialed and perfect, it's just a little slow to react on bumps, which makes me go towards oil weight rather than spring rate or preload.

I have the same kit, springs and spacers. After seeing your video I will for sure mix the 15w and 7w to make 11w

Do you know the model name/year? Just need to see how it would possibly work on my bike or a buddy's.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
    What’s the new setup?

I think I want the Mosko 40L. But need a slight break from moto camping and touring. The trip was 1552 miles. "Issues" or pet peeves that i saw were once the chain gets dirty, i can hear a paper on paper rubbing sound, which really annoyed me. I put boeshield T9 on the chain which helped, but on a multi day offroad trip, might need to bring chain cleaner.

Also i got crazy cupping on my front tire. Could be that it has 5k+ miles on it, hard braking, or other things.. but that also was present.

Seat comfort was the last thing lol. Maybe i do need a seat concepts foam replacement.

And besides getting hit by a deer, i didnt have any other issues. I didnt like unstrapping my dry bag every hotel night, but at least nothing got wet.

Have you looked into the OSCO chain oiler? I considered it after Itchy Boots ran it in season 3. Seems like a useful item regardless of riding style.

Very happy with my seat concepts foam and cover replacement on my super tenere. Get a 40$ cheapie air stapler on Amazon (the arrow oilless one works awesome and comes with staples). Chain... yeah 1500 miles of mostly off road going to need to do some chain maintenance along the way unfortunately.

It really wasn't mostly offroad. We did one full day of offroad in the rain. And then 7 days of road. Turns out the BDR video hyped me more than what i am capable of right now.. plus 300+ mile days takes it out of you, if your seat isn't comfortable.

Ah, I wouldn't be doing this set, unfortunately. I'm not keen on drilling holes.

I'll throw another + for the seat concepts. I had always used factory seats. Mine had one on when I bought it.....and will always go with one after actually feeling the difference. I also have the stock seat, so I was able to feel the difference on the same bike.

I first heard of Seat Concepts from Dork in the Road. I think he's got a discount somewhere for them as well. 10% I think?

Ah yes the old chain whine/drone. Only way around that is to keep that chain lubed to lubed up with dry lube. It’s the little things that start annoying you on a ride…a tick, drone or clank.
i used to ride with ear plugs, but I don’t anymore for a couple reasons. Mainly it was I felt like my head was over heating lol. I also spend a lot of time conversing with people in training, so that is also a no go. You wear plugs…not that it will stop an annoying sound, just may lessen it.

I own a few of the Mosko Moto bags. I got the Reckless80, 40 and smaller 25. I also have a set of the pannier backcountry.
The panniers are way easier to deal with on an excursion such as the one you recently went on. If I know I will be staying a few places, on the panniers go.
If I am riding and only bike camping, on the reckless goes. I will say the 40 is the sweet spot. You can add additional bags to the outside which gives you closer to 55-60l, depending on how you roll.
The panniers stick out a few inches more, so take that in consideration on the trails you’re rolling on.
I have had them all, and the best setup is the one that you have to fool with the least.
There are plenty of packing vids out there to help make packing easier. Ashley does a job talking about it for the 40.
    https://youtu.be/KQmrjiKCmQk

Hells yeah, get the seat concepts, got them on all the bikes.

The cupping happens to us all, it’s unfortunate and also unavoidable. People say you can do this or that, but they reality is there is just so much force on the front, it literally reshape a the tread as you wear it. Replace it when it gives you notice it. Aka, if you feel the vines it is close to being gone. Also, trying a little harder compound will help slow this down. I run MotoZ, they have 3 different tires for adv bikes. They have a version that isn’t the crazy soft, and I notice it doesn’t cup as soon.

The big bikes weight just pushes the hell out of the tread on breaking. I apply breaking 60/40 on the road…only to keep up my skills with my right foot.
Most people only use engine breaking and the front break. But I am old enough to remember when ABS wasn’t a thing, and stopping was on you :)

It’s interesting to see how the different treads cup though. Your is cupping on the 2 inner smaller lugs towards the middle.

Mine always a cups in the larger big lug in which it cups off the leading front edge.
