You can find out here, though a toyota often expands recalls so have to check on occasion. I did get a notice i. the mail for mine but it was 6 months or more before my dealer had a fuel pump on hand…

TBH, I really didn’t want to take a perfectly running truck in and have the fuel pump replaced and end up with something going wrong lol. It worked out fine though runs as good as ever.

I thought the exact same thing I bought this reliable truck now I’m installing this aftermarket junk but it only piggy backs so if it fails you can just reach up by the pedal unplug the commander and just plug the gas pedal right back in and be back to factory. I can’t speak for long term reliability but I’ve had it for 10k and 0 issues. It’s worth the risk to me because it makes the truck that much more enjoyable to drive

Those tires are 39lbs each. Mine are 44 and that's light. You should be in good shape

Can you tell more about 4.88 in 2.7L did it make a difference? Is speed limiter is around 90mph? Why not 5.29? I can't make my mind to go 4.88 or 5.29, I have 265' but will move up to 34x10.5 bfg ko2.

5.29’s didn’t exist for the 8.75” back then, I was limited to 4.88. Now a days I’d absolutely rock the 5.29’s. 35’s are some big meats bro.

The new owner I believe dropped down to a 33”. 3rd gens are damn heavy, and the 3RZ struggled on hills and head winds.

The 3RZ in my 99” gets after it

Has anybody with a 5-speed regeared to 4.30's or 4.56's?

I'm thinking about increasing my tire size to 265/70/16 (stock size for V6s) or 265/75/16.

You shouldn't have to regear for jumping up to those sizes. I'm running 265/75/16 with my 4cyl.. ECT will be your friend at times

    285 ... Yeah maybe.

Oh.. hmmm. Sorry.. I failed to realize that the MT did not have an ECT button. I guess it makes sense though. Guess your version of ECT would be hanging out in 2nd 3rd and 4th a little longer than normal

    No apology necessary.

I just figured a 4.30 or 4.56 would give me a little better performance when hauling/towing with tires that are taller/heavier than the P245/75R15 that the truck came with.

May be true. I live in a fairly flat area so even with bigger tires my truck doesn't labor much...it doesn't win any races either. When I was in the mountains a few times I did notice that the 4cyl was a big of a turd going uphill and I wasn't hauling anything. I have the same truck as you .. the bare bones SR 4x4 .. however I'm in an AT. I have 265/75/16 tires and I did a little research to try and keep them as light as possible while still having an aggressive all terrain tread. 43lbs each (I didn't do an E load since my off-road excursions aren't serious). I also swapped the steelies for some lightweight wheels at 17lbs each. My new setup wound up weighing just a tad more than the steelies and 245s.

If your hauling stuff I can't really offer any suggestions. I've towed a small bass boat and some kyaks... That's about it.. no issues but I was doing short trips.

There are some good AT tires in the 265/75/16 size that weigh less than 40 lbs in a SL ... If your considering jumping up I'd suggest Staying as light as possible and testing it out over the course of a handful of trips....I'd imagine towing anything with the 4cyl in a hilly or mountainous region would be brutal.

The autos come with 4.30 gears, whereas the manuals come with 3.91 (actually 3.909) gears. Therefore, all the gear ratios are numerically higher on the auto thru 4th gear.

I know I'm probably splitting hairs here. Just curious, more than anything, if anybody's done it and noticed a difference.

Interesting. I wasn't aware the gear ratio was different between the MT and Auto... I probably should have surmised as much being as I owned a couple first gens and they were "the same" except for the rear axle gear ratio.

Just picked up my 2023 2.7 SR 4x4
I’m a little concerned about my water temp gauge reading a little past half way. 211 miles on the truck. Sitting in driveway check with obd 2 reads 196. Going down highway 192-194, after running turn off 201 then starts to cool down. outside temp 72
Is this normal? Is everyone temp reading a little past half way? thank you
