Also looks like you could use -24AN hose. That might get quite costly though.

 

Most people use -16AN for cooling systems, but it’s still hard since I’d have to adapt from AN to a slip fit.

 

have you tried to call crown performance ? if you give them measurements and fittings they might be able to fedex it to you. they are local for me so we get “ while you wait” service from them they are really awesome folks. my last brake line project they laid under the truck with me in their parking lot took measurements figured out angles for fittings and i had the lines in an hour

I found a local supply store that sells EPDM hose in the right size in bulk. Ill go down there tonight and pick some up!

Radiator and Condenser installed in the bed. Tire cage is still fully removable. Will put the fans on tomorrow.



switch pros and power tray install is done. Got a few wires to tidy up and connect, but for the most part it’s done. Just need to loom it.

I want to find a shorter battery too.

The transmission developed a leak as I’ve been running the motor a little bit. The electrical connector isn’t sealing right. I bought a new one tonight and will put it in tomorrow. Fluid got everywhere.

I’m still waiting on a few hoses to show up on Amazon, stuff to make the tight bends for the coolant hoses. Should be able to plumb the majority of everything tomorrow minus those tiny sections.

I’m in the final stretch here to get this thing driving!

 

Is your switch pro hot line direct to the battery or also tied into the fuse block? Just an fyi switch pro recommends direct to battery (with a fuse ofc) and you “may” have some difficulty with any warranty work if you have it tied into a fuse block or anything, or so I have heard.

 

Ran the coolant lines from the radiator to the front. Changed out the internal transmission harness as well. Waiting on a few fittings to get here from Amazon before I can burp and bleed the cooling system.

 

yeah i used parker ez form hose for my soft coolant lines with an push lock fittings from fragola, https://www.parker.com/portal/site/...lass=928255af8ffc8510VgnVCM100000e6651dacRCRD this stuff literally can be tied in a knot without kinking....downside is the price, i used 1 1/4" and i think it was in the 25 dollar a foot price range.... but it worked great. for that long of a run to the bed i would not trust -16 to be able to flow enough to the engine and back.

only 8$ a foot. 1.5" ID. Good for the pressure and temperature. It's decently flexible, has a bending radius of maybe 8 inches. Not horrible, but had to get some couplers in a few places to make the sharper bends. Overall im happy with it, we'll see how it holds up.

I’m frustrated. Got the coolant system plumbed tonight. Can’t burp it.

the coolant in the radiator is cold and up front it’s hot. I don’t think my water pump is working at all.

 

Air pocket, vacuum bleed the system

 

That or try bleeding at the steam vent fittings if you can.

 

I bought a new water pump and thermostat. Putting it in now. I’ll try to bleed it again tomorrow morning I don’t want to piss off my neighbors. What’s the best way to vacuum bleed and how would you go about that?

 

The OEM water pump may or may not be enough. If the steam vents don't do the trick. You may need an additional water pump. Hopefully not.

 

I actually didn’t even get a chance to try rebleeding the system this morning. Truck is on the way to the driveshaft shop.

I was hoping to be able to drive it home but that’s not going to happen now.

 

I’ve got 1 1/4” lines all the way to my bed with a huge Ron Davis radiator and have zero issues with a ls2 water pump

 

My buddy is letting me borrow his vacuum bleeder. Gotta fucking empty out something to store all that coolant in.
