So I sold this truck to my brother in law and bought a 3rd gen 4Runner but that didn't stop me from finishing out this build! He bought a 4xInnovations rear bumper & I installed some IPF's that I got from @KingOfTheNorth. Truck looks great and is finally on it's way back to CA for him to enjoy.

How easy would this be? I have really low miles on my A340E and just want to reuse it. Is all I need the adapter to the transfer case? How easy would it be to convert and how should I go about converting it. Thank you

If you're really mechanically inclined you can do it - I'd personally pay a shop to do it but all you'll need is the output shaft and tail housing from an A340F, however to get that you need to disassemble the whole transmission.

Is it simple just tedious or is it complex and tedious? If I had a shop do it what fee and I’m looking at?

I'd say it's complex and tedious, you're disassembling the entire transmission. Doable if you took your time and really paid attention to how everything goes together.

I had a shop quote me something around $400 when I was looking at having it done on my swap.

Okay. Do you think it’s worth having a shop do it? I got a 137k on my tranny and I don’t think I can find another transmission with that kind of miles or even the kind of miles I’d be okay with. Yeah I am 17 so technically not a whole ton of experience under a car but I have done my fair share. I just feel the auto transmission is such a complicated creation and I could mess something up super easily.

Personally I would - I don't want to be questioning my transmission every time I'm on a long trip!

Did you have to do anything special to keep ABS?

As mentioned in your other thread, look at the spindle.

It has the tab on there.

If you have ABS, just use your own spindle and get things pressed out and in again.

Is this the only thing that gets pressed into the spindle?

Also I noticed in your list @yotadude520, that you have the front wheel seal listed and the wheel bearing listed seperate but the link is to the same item. Is that correct?

Yup take that with your OG spindle and that should be all you need.

if you buy that kit too you don’t need to get a new wheel bearing it’s included. I’ll have to check my list again but it is considered a front wheel bearing seal
