It’s not just the Lightning. Check out nicer trimmed Broncos, F150s, or Raptors. It’s stupid.

The Jeep I traded in for my current truck MSRPs for over 60k new (I bought used). You can get them on discounts, but it’s still wild. People just see what they want and buy.. and wonder why they’re broke af lol

Well they buy a Ford F250 tow twice a year and complain about high gas prices. That's the same person who drives 80 on the freeway too.

Came across this video by an Automotive Engineer with over 30 years of experience of his thoughts on the 2024 Tacoma and two-dozen or so surprises he found and his opinion them. It's pretty good/informative. Check out his "about" page for his background, which is pretty impressive.

I live in southern ish WV now where there’s more farm land and it kills me when folks driving HDs or duallies on the road with empty beds at 80mph complain about anything vehicle related. Like guys, come on now.

I was in Beijing for a spell and saw one full size truck the whole time I was there, a Tundra. It was like seeing a spaceship lol.

As an American you forget how ubiquitous they are here until one parks next to you and you have to squeeze by it since it is exactly 2" narrower than the parking spot...

Lots and lots of FC type Toyota Hi Ace and Fuso like trucks though. Lots. I actually wish we had more Forward Control type vehicles as I consider it a much more space efficient design than a traditional pick-up.

    /van guy for life.

I lived amongst some German college kids several years back and they would poke fun at me about my big lifted truck.
It is a 1st gen Tacoma... a teeny tiny truck by American standards lol. It really is a foreign concept to anyone outside North America

Hell yeah! Love me a cab over!

Think I like the Dyna more than the HiAce. Can’t imagine it riding very well, maybe throw in those new suspension seats.

That wasn't the point being made, but I understand the contention with reality. I use my truck as a truck; as do most truck owners. If you buy a truck to haul groceries then you are either a) wealthy or b) a poor money manager. @aozer

Turbo Diesel not turbo gas. Hilux is a beast. Wish I could own one. whistlindiesel couldn't break it. Apples to oranges comparison.

I'm the same, but you're kind of detached from reality bro. Hardly any tacoma owners take their trucks off road. Doesn't mean they're wealthy or bad with money. Means they want a truck as a daily.

Ping some Shelby and ZL1 owners if they do track days. Same thing. It’s cool to do, but most people just want to enjoy their vehicles. The American way is to over do it

Toyota has had a turbo 4 in the Camry (lots of Camrys on the road) since 2017. Even Mercedes has turbo 4s in their top of the line AMGs. Fears of 4 cyl and turbos are unwarranted.

 Yikes! +- 26,000 per set on the pads! :facepalm:40K on the rotors: I'm impressed! ;) That's definitely a keeper you got right there..... Don't aggravate her.

My S-I-L has a Sequoia 4WD Limited. I'm not sure of the exact year, but it's an older one and it's a monster and has the 5.7L Lexus V8 under the hood. The front brakes are massive: they have to be. (Especially with her driving it.)
