Sometimes people ask me how I know all the random shit I know (with varying levels of politeness and belief in its veracity), and all I got it
"I have ADHD, an internet connection, really good research skills, and zero self-regulatory mechanisms."

    https://getpocket.com/explore/item/...-with-adhd-as-well-as-those-who-struggle-with

Hmm, I wonder why my brother sent me that article. The funny part is our whole family is like that; my niece worries about her four sons and we
are "look at the rest of us, name a task your Dad can't tackle" (hint, he is a horrible welder, but great at home construction/remodel/repair... don't ask
    him to weld."

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Happy Sailing Bob. Enjoy every minute and remember, :worthless: please and plenty of them. Even if you have to wait til you get home.:thumbsup:

Hi Carl, I only eat exotic when I'm away, but at home it's the usual hot dogs with the trimmings :annoyed::rofl:.

    Have a good night all.

I love wild game and fish. Being a hunter and fisherman , there’s little I haven’t harvested and eaten. Years ago a group of us who were friends and hunters and fishermen use to have an annual wild game dinner. We had it at one of our houses any where from 10 to 20 of us attended along with our spouses. The only requirement was that you had to bring something (game, fish, bird) that you harvested. We either brought things already prepared or we’d cook/prepare it there. Here’s some of the things I ate over the years - deer, elk, wild pig, bear (unfortunately no one ever brought moose.) Ducks, geese, pheasant, dove, quail, turkey. Trout, salmon, various types of bass, catfish, sturgeon. Saltwater included king salmon, striped bass, halibut, rock fish, shark, Dungeness crab, clams, abalone . There’s more but I forget some. My favorites from the different categories were elk, pheasant , some great duck dishes too. King salmon and the ultimate was abalone. All was harvested in California except one year elk meat was harvested in Colorado and a white tail deer from Montana. Oh yeh and some of the finest wines and whiskey’s were brought to these dinners. (Our lovely spouses would drive us guys home since we sometimes had a bit more adult beverage than we should)
One thing positive about California is the abundance and diversity of game, fowl and salt and fresh water fish and seafood. If you know where and how it’s a hunters/fishermen’s paradise.
Been about 10 years since our last game dinner. I really miss them and all the friends that use to attend.

Thank you for reminding me that CA is so much more than what we get from the media lately. I'm on a personal mission to focus on the positive and ignore the negative.
On that note, @kamakazie_1 posted this yesterday, it reminded me why I do what I do, and have for the last almost 40 yrs (combined active duty and civil service). Thought some here might enjoy; this young lady has a heck of a great powerful voice to boot:

Wife is still a no...heck, can't even convince her to get our passports renewed! But I have friends (couples and alone) who have made these river cruises, and they love them. Most even offer a way to get away from the onshore crowd, and tour on your own. BUT, they do say you can't get to all the places, and enjoy translated info, on your own. Either way, enjoy!!

Hot dogs are quite enjoyable. They are good with baked beans, raw onions, relish and (I'm going to catch crap for this but) ketchup. French fries and a slice of dill pickle . Steak for me is a luxury.

Hot dogs are only great on the grill, imo. I could eat a hamburger 2 meals a day, with a 1/2'' slice of onion, lettuce and ketchup. Pickle on the side. Sweet potato tots off a griddle.

Me talking: We were having burgers a couple of weeks ago and going to make home made french fries... and discovered we were fresh out of potatoes. So we oven roasted some carrots we cut up like fries and they were awesome!!!

I would have never thought of the carrots. Thanks for the tip. Just roasted any seasoning.

A little oil and that's it. I suppose you could use seasoning... Hmmmm, now you have me thinking.
