Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
in house phone problems now that so many use internet phone service.

I have encountered that very often.

    Badass, appreciate the pic!

Yeah I need to buy 2" square tube anyway so I'd use the left over for a stand.

No shit; I'd rather do things face to face.

Being far away, phone is the next best thing.

    Guess I'm just old school?

I also would rather deal in person at least to a good relationship is established.

Any more so many freight damage and lost in transit claims.

The local Miller warranty repair vendor has 1 employee that just does shipping damage claims .

As much OT as they want.

That is looking damn near identical to what I was going to do.

Got plenty of 2" x 3" left over; someone on this thread said they needed some?

Anyone in SoCal interested in my original Langmuir Crossfire? It’s in good condition. Probably needs a little cleaning and maybe change the slats out but that’s it. I also have the XL expansion kit for it sitting in a box brand new never touched. Asking $1100 for it

The new crossfire pro has been getting a workout!

Took a ton of measurements for DCSB, DCLB, and crew max tundras and started CNC cutting out the frame plates for my sliders

No way, you never installed the XL kit?

Dang, the Pro must feel like a huge upgrade then!

For those wondering, the XL kit adds 10" of cutting area as it replaces one of the main and gantry tubes to allow full use of the water table.

You'll notice movement of the torch is restricted on one plane due to the mounting bracket. The replacement tubes move the mounting bracket farther down to allow the torch more travel.

Is anyone using the home made water table fluid?

If yes, can I get a review?

I keep hearing Borax thrown out there.

After months of using this stuff, and still being able to use it for awhile longer, I'll be sticking to it -

We tried home made on our first table and it was marginally adequate... commercial fluids are 10x better IMO.

I just dumped 55 gal of SterlingCool Plasma Fluid in our new machine (800 gal water table).

Initially I am fairly impressed with it. The gunk seems to clump together better and settle to the bottom of the table rather than floating around and mixing.

Chose it because it was cheap(er) per gallon than others and got good recommendations. Mixes at 5-10% by volumn.

    Thanks for the replies, guys.

Another question, does it evaporate as fast as plain water?

If yes, do you just top it off with plain water?

My table will sit for 4 months while I'm south for the winter. If it's just easier to use water, I'll just do that.

    Thanks in advance

We just top off with water. The fluid doesnt seem to evaporate as quickly as they are typically some type of water soluble oil.

And we typically top off weekly. Between heat based evaporation and evaporation due to Colorado's wonderfully low humidity, we lose a lot. Once we start seeing rust on the table, then we add more cutting fluid.

I would drain the table if I were leaving it for 4 months. Either fully drained, or into a sealable container for later use. The other option is to fab up a cover for the table that can be installed during those long stints to reduce evaporation, as it seem like those might be a somewhat common occurrence for you (judging from some past posts).

I find myself adding water; fluid itself doesn't seem to evaporate but I do add water once a week...at least 2 gallons worth each time?

    Good info.

I have been thinking about a cover. My worry is I don't think a cover that covers the gantry as well as the water pan would be good.

I keep the shop at 50* and I would expect the gantry to cool faster than the WP and could develope condensation. I don't want condensation on the steppers or the gear rails.

    Decision, decisions...

Most of the people I dealt with used just water. Many times tables were moved and set up on job site locations.

After all CNC tables only trickled down to home/ hobby levels in the last few years.

Going south for the Winter I would just drain things .

Someone on here asked about videos or whatever of what my BIL does.

Unfortunately his Instagram is on private so I can't link his videos but I did screenrecord a small bit to show here -

    https://youtu.be/8KC8FRQsqt8

And apparently he took a few pics and posted on IG for his followers to see; just one of the gauntlets and helmets I fixed -

Tricky part is, welds aren't allowed to be seen at all.

As you can see, it's full contact and these guys hit each other with said weapons. That or use brute force to take others down.
