I installed some new front 6x9 speakers on my 22 Tacoma sr with the stock head unit and stock non jbl system. I installed the passenger speaker first, before I screwed it into the door I tested it and the sound was working. I then taped the harness to the metal door, did the other side. Tried to listen again and now neither side was working. I believe I accidentally left the car on when I was connecting the driver side which I think could’ve blown a fuse. Anyone know what could be going on? Is their a fuse linked to the front door speakers? The tweeters and rear speakers are still functioning.

I know it’s a pain but go back to the other side ( the one you did last ) and disconnect the wire )
See if the first one plays

Not a fuse. It should take the whole system down. Are you using the Toyota wire harness? Aftermarket? DIY wire?

So basically the new 6x9s work just like the originals... can't hear anything out of them regardless....

( just joking here as some say, it's Friday )

Let us know what the cause is others will want to know.

On the <$250 budget setup on the audio forum, there was somebody who mentioned that the low power out from the headunit can(?) cause speakers to break.

    Any truth in this?

Those are separate speaker lines recheck your connections to the speakers you installed. Is the fader in the middle?
