The new tundra went from 14 MPG average to 16.5 MPG. Check Fuelly for actual real world data. I expect the same ~2 MPG increase from the new tacoma.

It’s misleading to compare data across unsubstantiated sources so it adds a bias which is why when the Tacoma comes out I will use a consistent data source with empirical metrics generated a consistent and repeatable test.

While it gives unsubstantiated data points it provides no value in a static comparison.

I’ve found actual compiled aggregate end user reported data to be much more accurate and applicable to real world analysis than EPA MPG numbers listed from manufactures.

Reported mpgs excludes the context of variation which the EPA testing removed. I have not found reported data to be remotely accurate making the use case for it completely irrelevant.

You can use it if you like.

Right because the real world isn’t a vacuum chamber / wind tunnel which is why the manufacturers listed MPG’s aren’t applicable to the real world. You are correct that individual reported data will vary based on a multitude of factors such as altitude, fuel quality, etc. which is why you would take an aggregate of the compiled data set to get a “real world average”.

I’m not looking for “real world” reporting metrics that are unsubstantiated nor am I looking for “real world averages.” Maybe in another analysis but not right now.

Telling me your a data scientist doesn’t make you any more credible than the mpgs some random user loaded. I’ve met a lot of stupid people that have done “x” job for “y” years, next you’ll want to tell me what paper mill you got a degree at.

Move along Felicia no one cares.

Okay, trust the fake “perfect condition 100% of the time” manufacturers MPG numbers that you will never attain in real world conditions then. Just don’t be surprised when the vehicle doesn't meet those numbers under real driving conditions. Ignorance is bliss.

That’s not the intent at all of my comparison. Run along junior, in over your head.

Ya dude I have 20 years and 5 PHDs. Hahaha what’s dunce. You don’t even understand the intent of my comparison.

Joking aside. Never brag about 5 years of experience that’s junior staff level type experience.

What’s actually made me LOL is I haven’t owned a lawnmower or any lawn equipment in 10 years.

The difference is I actually am a data scientist with over 5 years experience as a senior data analyst and your just making a mockery joke because your probably a ~95 IQ blue collar worker who is trying to discuss data analysis and then claim the actual expert is "over his head". You disparaging colleges as "paper mills" says all I need to know about your level of education (GED or high school grad). It's okay that you didn't get accepted to college a long time ago, no need to be bitter about it and attack higher learning as a whole. Next your gonna claim it's a "lib indoctrination camp" and that your smarter than a doctor because you watched a Youtube video once and saw a Facebook post. Ignorance truly is bliss.

5 years may be junior staff level in blue collar work / becoming a journeyman. 1-3 years is junior, 5+ years is senior in IT, cause you know, the degree that you never got takes 4 years as well. Sorry to split into 2 replies, you keep editing your comments minutes later.

This is genuinely HILARIOUS! Me to bro, totally actually.

I'm not the on coming in making a bunch of assumptions about someone then trying to build credibility on a Toyota forum.

The level of insecurity projected in your post is pure gold.

Your getting dragged because you told me "run along junior" and now your deflecting as though you didn't act like a child with petulant insults first and make assumptions about me on a Toyota forum. The level of cognitive dissonance and ignorance from your posts is pure gold.

The BEST part of this is how grossly wrong you are about everything.

But at 5 years of experience I wouldnt expect much. I'm glad you "feel" like a senior but those are still all junior positions to me.

True, you are smarter than everyone when it comes to analyzing data sets and Toyota's MPG are correct. If you don't get their advertised MPG's it's because your doing something wrong.

You have never been wrong a day in your life.

Why would I expect anyone to get the advertised mpgs, no where did I imply that nor was that the intent.

It's not about me being wrong, it's about your dysfunctional need to be right. Truth be told a normal person would havbe moved on but you were immediately triggered.

You posted Tundra advertised MPG increases. I posted the real world user reported data of MPG's. You claimed the real world dataset was wrong and bias. A normal person would have looked at the fuelly data and realized that the Tundra advertised MPG's aren't real. Instead you doubled down and claimed that all the user reported data was wrong and bias. I then explained my credentials when it comes to analyzing datasets, as hopefully an appeal to authority type argument would break your cognitive dissonance. This being an internet forum it clearly failed as anyone can claim anything.

I assumed you would expect to get advertised MPG's since you made the claim that the Tundra's MPG's increased X amount and you based that on their advertised MPG's, instead of real world data that you immediately dismissed as "fake news".

Let me know which part of the above breakdown I got wrong. I'll take a non-reply as an L on your part.
