:drool::hungry::hungry:. @ slabs of Scrapple with 2 eggs over easy, home fries with onions and rye toast :hungry::hungry:

Looks like a good and a healthy meal Murray. as far as I know, Tom @95SLE is away and when he gets home he'll be cooking and sharing his meals with us all. Thanks for posting the recipe .

My wifes favorite line is "I get my greens when I eat beef because they eat the greens for me :D" . I have learned to try everything and surprisingly most are quite good .

Fish was never to my liking either until I tried different dishes. Have you tried crab legs? One of my favorites .

Ken, no crab, lobster or shrimp yet just salmon, squid and walleye.

No need to slink back in Mark. Have never been to any place up there for hot dogs, but they sound good. My favorite is Johnny's Hots for sausage on Delaware Ave in Philly. They won't tell me where they get their sausage :(. I have stopped at a little hot dog stand in Bartonsville on route 611 and they had the best onion sauce hey made for topping a dog . Unfortunately they were closed the last time I was by there.:(

Hve to give that a try one day

Same with the steak, but what I started doing is put some onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper and olive oil in a zip lock bag, mix it up take the steak and stab it a few times, put it in the bag and swish the mix around on the steak and put it in the refridge for a day or two. Take it out and let it get to room temperature before cooking it on the barbie on medium heat. I will pour the oil mix on the steak while it's cooking to help sear in the flavor. Most times it's better than restaurant steak (just patting myself on the back ).

I cook steak cold so I can sear it over high heat and it takes longer for the inside to get overdone. If it's anything beyond medium rare it's overdone.

Yes, it's just on the other side of the "free bridge", as it's known locally, but it's been a very long time since I was there.
There are a couple of other hot dog shops around that I would consider excellent, there was a Willie Joes that I think just closed in Allentown, and multiple Pott's hot dogs, in the A.B.E. area, both were very similar in taste to Yacco's and I wouldn't hesitate to stop at either one if passing by.
We had a W.T. Grant store in town that made delicious hot dogs on a hot dog roller, not all hot dogs are created equal, some brands are head and shoulders above other brands, plus just the roll can make a big difference, I know they always steamed the roll at that W.T. Grant store.
And, I am sometimes guilty of committing the cardinal sin of putting ketchup on a hot dog!

You hit it right on the head with the rollers part. I've had several of my customers try to reverse engineer a couple of my hotdogs at home since I'm only open in the winter. I tell them what I use and where I get it. The difference maker is my flat top and everything (minus the condiments) goes across that grill all day long so it has its own seasonings and flavors.

We got a place in San Marcos called the Chili Dog Stand. It's been there as long as anyone remembers. Your option is chili dog. The buns are certainly Mrs. Bairds, delivered fresh and steamed. Best not ask about the dogs. Some say it's still the same pot of chili they started with.
Pretty good though. We had several regulars at work. :D

We were hunting all day in Potter County,Pa. and saw a sign in front of a local (very local) eating place "Tonight's Special-Goulash"

Our group went there for dinner...and it sure wasn't Hungarian Goulash.
Elbow macaroni with a dab of Ragu was forever known as Potter County Goulash.:bananadead::bananadead:

Oh hell no. Overdone and clumpy.
But after a full day in the woods, it was a five star meal.

After forty-three years of cooking dinners, 355 evenings a year, Mrs JGO ran out of steam with it after 15,265 meals. Fortunately as she was losing steam, Cusinart came out with their version of air fryer. It was a life changing experience, for her. (Because I began cooking about half the time.)
