    You are pardoned. For those not aware, "We are the shit" is just a phrase and does not mean what it really says. In other words, it is not to be taken literally. We have lots of quaint colloquial expressions in the United States, only because we are a colorful people. I know there are other expressions that do not mean what they say, in other countries and languages. This is just like any of those. Also not to be taken literally:

    "Easy as pie." (Anyone who has made a pie knows it is not easy.)
    "What are you, yellow?" (Yellow means coward in this context.)
    "That guy is a real motherfu**er." (He might have sex with mothers but the word usually has a totally different meaning.)
