Do I have any leverage with the dealer here with a delay?

How the hell did you do that in 2021? Was it a manual in lime green or some other obscure trim and color

 

I have a 2021 SR 4 door 4x4 with 17k miles for sale. $ 35.5k price is firm. I have it listed locally for 36.6 k

 

It's the truck in my avatar....DCLB auto V6 in MGM with the advanced tech and premium audio packages. Granted it's a 4x2 but that's not uncommon at all here. Dealers in my area (south Florida) still had plenty of stock on the lot at the time. I got in just before the market went haywire.

I go between New Mexico and Oklahoma, waiting on my new truck in OK and they had one used Tacoma on the lot. No new ones at all but had 2-3 non taken allocations for the next month.

Down in southern NM where 4x4 trucks are fucking gold you still can't get an allocation under 2 months unless 2wd, congrats on the deal! You got lucky

 

Sell it to carvana they just gave me 38.5 for my 2022 sr 4x4 V6 DC with 10k miles. I only paid 34.5 last year for it lol

 

How did the process work for you? Did they have any issues with the condition of the truck and or the pick up process?

They didn't check anything. CarMax was more thorough with a different truck. Carvana gave me the online offer made sure it turned on and drove away. Easy.

On going issue perhaps. Remember when Toyota decided to continue the majority of 2020 Tacoma prodiction in San Antonia, instead of moving all Tacoma production to Mexico?

 

I was in a similar situations and the dealer resolved it by offering the same model in a different color with more options for the same price.

Look, everyone needs to make $ and leaving a client w/o a car is just not a good business. Glad you had your issue solved.
