    i have a really, really stupid question.

    is it much of an issue that the youtube vids linked in the OP are the m90 and not the MP90 which is actually in our trucks..?

    what are the real differences where rebuilding is concerned? i need to replace the bearings in mine. i dont even have a press so i could just pick up a kit plus a cheapo press from harbor freight and get on with it.. but i want the source of my information to be current and correct for my application, and the m90 isnt the same thing, yeah?

    The videos in the OP are the same exact supercharger as the magnuson one. I'm not sure if the m90 and mp90 are the same, but I know the TRD and Magnuson charger are the same exact parts aside from a different casting for the logo.

    if youre not sure if the two are the same, then...? id assume theres at least some kinda difference since they each have their own model number.

    yes, we all know its the mp90, as stated in my post, as stated a million times in various places, and as stated in the OP of this thread.

    my question is, just how is the m90 different? since the vids in the op are the m90 and the thing we use to learn about what to do has to be the same as what we got in our truck. ya know? like, ya dig?

    i mean, the shit aint rocket science xD

    They are the same supercharger, don't over think it :thumbsup: Magnuson didn't redesign or change anything when they re-released the supercharger, they just had to take the TRD branding off.

    so gents, what do we think about the snout rebuild kits? so far i've found 2 that look good, but i'm suspicious about the price of the cheaper one.

    the usual;
    https://superchargersonline.com/pro...for-trd-magnuson-4-0l-tacoma-fj-supercharger/

    flying under radar;
    https://www.dylanhaugen.com/detail/...gs-Coupler-Kit-Mp62-Mp90_xpz667988c5b89a.html

    the second one looks pretty damn good to me *IF* those really are SKF bearings. but isn't the I/D size of both bearings different? in the pic for that second kit, they look the same, but whatever. I guess i can quit being lazy about it and just ask them some questions.

    Nice find and huge price difference......but, to me, the syringe, hose, blower oil, and gasket maker are a wash....

    Syringes can be had for cheap at pharmacies. Hose tubing can be had from any aquarium shop. Gasket maker from Vatozone. Blower oil can be had at your GM dealer.

    That leaves those bearings. The blower bearings spin at a ungodly rpm. I can't justify the ~$100 savings and trust an unverified vendor. SCOL is as legit as can be for support on our supercharger systems.

    I'm frugal but I would lean to SCOL until that other kit is proven and tried and true.

    My two pennies

    yeah when it came to shove id probly pick up the first one and just buy the coupler, heh. not interested in the springloaded version, honestly. dunno.. we'll see. my blower isnt in need of service right this second, i have plenty of time.

    SCOL is in my opinion the last frontier to access all critical supercharger parts and must be protected via our support. I support them and what they stand for and the vital service they provide to all of the boosted masses and I hope we are not the only ones who feel this way about them.
