Has anyone ever done or seen someone put a UWS box in their truck and wire in some marine speakers in it? You'd obviously need some sort of switch to turn the speakers on, but this would be cool to tailgate or something and not have to keep your truck open.

    Bad idea? LOL

its actually a good idea, i know a couple people that have speakers in there cubby holes in the pickup. another good idea is see how much clearance you have on the lid and maybe build them into it so when you flip the lid you can play music.

as far as stealing, if someones gonna steal something there gonna take anything they wish. hell you can steal a tail light in like five seconds.... mount the sub with a special bit and screw maybe?

Mount them facing down and put a false bottom in the tool box, no one will even know that they are there.

I was actually thinking of the same idea. You dont want some pathetic Marine speakers like that. Check out the Skylon Rubicon series. Incredible boat speakers. Had a pair a while back on my Jeep. Things kicked ass. I've actually been looking for a tool box that I would be willing to cut some holes into so I could do a project like this.
