    "After Pierre Gasly brought out a red flag when he stopped near Turn 8 on an install lap with a gearbox issue, it was discovered that the closed circuit television system was not synched properly. That is a big safety issue as the CCTV enables race control to monitor the whole track, even where marshals can't be, to deploy local or full-course yellow flags.

    The result was a frustrating session-long red flag with no cars setting a flying lap. The FIA made the determination that Free Practice 2 will start 30 minutes earlier — at 4:30 p.m. ET — and run for 90 minutes rather than the usual hour"

    Maybe I misread or didnt understand this quote but I thought he was potentially under investigation for going too slowly…
    “Hulkenberg and a Haas representative would need to attend a hearing at 6.40pm local time over an alleged breach of the minimum sector time every car must adhere to for safety reasons while returning to the pits following a red flag.”

    As I write this I’m realising that breaching the minimum sector time is going too quick and if there was such a thing as breaching the maximum sector time would be going too slow… DUH.

    From what it sounds like as he crossed the line he was starting another hot lap, there was 4 seconds between crossing the line and the red flag, his first sector under red flag was above the minimum time. Sucks to be the hulk!
