I'm looking to replace my standard 5100 rear shocks with 5160s however I'm curious as to how others have the reservoir mounted on their Tacoma. Does it make much difference where it goes or is it just up to each person on their preference? Some pictures would be helpful if you have any. Thanks!

The Tacoma specific 5160s should have a mounting kit included that lines up with slots in the frame on each side. There really is only one way to install them on a Tacoma unless you’re repurposing shocks from another vehicle or want to do something different. The instructions will show you where to place them.

You can mount them parallel with the shock body, but no one does. Always mount on the frame.
