    Tacoma world experts:
I bought an ARE cap and used some YouTube videos to wire the 3rd brake light in on the cap. I tapped into the light blue wire on the brake light plug as instructed and grounded to the cab. The 3rd brake light works now but I just realized today that the left brake light on the truck is now not working.

    Any thoughts as to why?

    Welcome!
I would go back over your wiring and make sure your connections are secure, and so is the bulb. Those T taps are known to be henky.

Could it have been burnt out before you started and now you just noticed? Might be worth it to swap bulbs or go buy a new one. Unless all the lights on that side are not working though does not sound like it since you said brake light only.

Did you tee into the left brakelight wire or accidentally cut it completely?

I spliced the hot for the 3rd brake light into the wire for a connection. Basically carefully cut back a section of sheath and spliced the 3rd brake light into that light blue wire. It’s weird because the brake light worked before and the 3rd brake light still works so I’m wondering if it blew a bulb somehow….

If you don't have a spare bulb for the brake light, swap it out with the bulb from the right side. If it doesn't work with a bulb you know is good, you know it's not the bulb.
