I just got this Tacoma it’s my like 3rd one but this one makes a metal clunk over hard bumps and when turning into or backing out of a drive way I’ve taken it to 3 mechanics and they said everything feels tight and replaced the sway bar links tie rods and had a alignment done by Toyota and tightened all the bolts and still hear the clunk other people have the same problem but I don’t see a real answer.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Place your hand on the front fender and push forward and pull back. My driver side fender was loose and making a banging sound over bumps.

Subscribing. My 2015 has a similar pop/knock and I can't find it for the life of me.

Check your radiator support bulkhead bushings. Sounds like they are FUBARED as usual.

I have an 05 DC with 242K. It developed a clunking noise when going in and out of parking spaces. On mine it turned out to be the left axle. Replaced both and problem solved.

I would check upper and lower ball joints, suspension top hat/strut mount. Possibly even lca or uca bushings if theyre really shot.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
    ^^^THIS

    And also check:
    • Body cab mounts (bushings and bolts)
    • Brake Calipers (I had a bit of brake pad rattle and added another retainer clip on each pad that cured it)

If he had a clunk when stopping I would strongly lean into a brake caliper/ pad anti rattle spring issue, but the body can mounts are always a big offender when it comes to these types of noises for sure. Namely the front ones. Every once in a while you do find a straggler who has had their primary cab mounts rear of the engine bay loose or just thrashed.

Mine makes noise like a '88 Ford Bronco, but I run poly on all 6 mounts so I just became audibly blind to the noises now.
